Em spat the best verse he's had in a while. All of Kendrick's features where nice. It's nice to hear Xzibit rapping again.
Those were my exact thoughts as well regarding Em and Xzibit. haha. I've never been a Kendrick fan, but he's kinda sold me with his features on this one.
It's a good album, I don't know if there are any instant classics on it though. I was pretty disappointed in Xzibit's appearance, and that song in general.
I like Animals, Issues, Genocide, For the Love of Money, All in a Days Work above the rest. But all in all pretty good. It's a modern album, but I'm still a little disappointed there are no G-Funk bangers since it's his last.
I'm really impressed with the Jon Connor and Anderson.
Paak features. All of the tracks they are on are pretty awesome. I've listened to the album a couple times through now and I think it will grow on me. I had pretty low expectations for it and Dre exceeded them for sure.
Just listened to it and was very disappointed in the lack of big hit. To me, there was hands down one standout track (Talk About It) but not crazy forward thinking like Dr. Dre normally is. His production of pretty lacklustre on a lot of tracks early to mid way through. He normally has some really hard and complex beats, but there wasn't a lot of that. 3 stars outta 5 from me.
Now that I've listened to it a couple times I really like the album. Yes, it doesn't have a standout hit but overall it's really solid from front to back and sounds excellent in the ride.
Everyone has their own tastes man. I love Thug. I haven't heard a track from him I don't like. Plus it's my first time in Europe and it'll be awesome seeing him play a club there

Oddly enough I had Smif-N-Wessun's classic album Dah Shinin' playing yesterday. Sean Price's first appearance was on this track here, as Ruck. Such a great album!

Fair enough. Young Thug has a place in hip hop, but it's a place that makes hip hop look bad. I just honestly don't get how anyone who is 30+ would be listening to Young Thug, Future, Rich Homie Quan, etc. But eh, it apperently gets you laid so I can't fault them.

"Is 30+"
Pegged it right there I think
I'm 30 and don't even pretend to enjoy most of whats "hot" right now. For the trap days I'll always have Jeezy's "Recession" or some old Ross, but for the most part im a fan of lyrics. Seemed hard to find for a bit but it's coming back full force

Took me a couple of listens to get over the fact that it wasn't a classic Dr.Dre album.
Good album but was very dissapointed after my first listen since it sounded more like another Kendrick Lamar album (which is crazy to think of as a bad thing) instead of a classic Dr.Dre album.
I really hope that he releases one last album that is a true Dr.Dre album, that is more in the same style as The Chronic, and 2001.

I agree, that as a whole, the album is good front to back. He's only done 2 other albums, but that seems to be a trait of his. I found this one much like Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. Nothing in particular stood out (save for one song), and there wasn't anything particular that you would want to listen to by itself, but front to back, it was a good listen .
I too was a bit disappointed that there wasn't as much G-Funk stuff as he pretty much pioneered, but I also found this one to be a bit of a shout out to the 'new age' hip hop.
