Default Sharks and Wild Trade?

Finally?

Over the years there have been many trade talks between the Wild and the Panthers/Jackets/Sharks. Some were good, some were not. But in the last two days, on the eve of the new CPHL season, the Wild and Sharks hooked up for two trades that basically shake out as follows:

To Wild
Teuvo Teravainen
Martin Necas

To Sharks
Kevin Shattenkirk
Zemgus Girgensens

We have been looking for another good D for awhile now but it has proven very difficult to find. We really didn’t want to give up Necas but to get you gotta give. Considering how we acquired Necas in the first place, we feel OK with this deal.

We think Girgensens will be the difference in this trade. If he can finally step it up in the NHL I think we do OK. But if not, we think the Wild won the deal long term.

Thanks Grant.
