Now, having said that, if we right conclude that tbe play-in games should be regarded as part of the 2020 regular season, then that means that McAvi has scored over 500 points in fewer games than Crosby.

How do we factor in that McDufus plays almost 30 minutes a night. I wonder what Sids numbers were

It is pretty telling that the Jets's run in 2018 gets less attention despite the fact that it was more recent, and also went all the way to the Conference Final.

I pulled the TOI/game and McAvi is at 21:30 while Sid is 20:51. Pretty similar

The fact that the points, GP, TOI etc are so similar proves how good Crosby actually is. Crosby in neck and neck on points with a guy who is 100% offense, while Crosby is an all around player focused on all areas of the game including team defense and PK.
McLottery doesn't even backcheck.

McDavid vs Crosby debates are similar to Rodgers vs Brady debates.
At the end of the day, people are going to count championships.

Unless McDavid gets traded and starts caring about all aspects of the game, Crosby will win this argument.

It’s more like a comparison between a rally car and a Bugatti, for a rally car race.
Yeah the Bugatti is fast and flashy, but you can’t win this game with a single focus.
I’m also terrible at analogies.

It is kind of a silly argument altogether anyways. Pound for pound Nathan MacKinnon is the best player in hockey right now, and has been for a few seasons.

Crosby got his 500th point in the 09/10 season he was still 22 years old. McDavid is 24. About 18 months younger. Sid was barely 18 when he played his first nhl game. Its an important fact missed when comparing both of their starts to their careers.
Sid already had a cup too

That’s just it. McDavid isn’t even in the same category as these guys.
He’s more like... Kovalchuk, Kovalev, Bure, etc...

Or Ovechkin, not stylistically, but in the way he contributes.

Yeah I didn’t want to do Ovi bad like that... I had typed his name out but he’s grown on me. Fully agree though.

The interesting thing about Crosby’s career is it was in his 6th season when he suffered that first severe concussion(the winter classic iirc) that caused him to miss significant time that season and into the next. It was after that you notice a change in his statistics and style of play. He was/is still well over a ppg player but that’s when you see a bigger shift from a reckless offensive style to the well rounded game that he plays today. I wonder what would happen to Mcavi’s career if he were to suffer an injury like that or lose a step?

Oh, it's coming. McAvi has been twice injured now for being a reckless, entitled idiot with his ridiculously dangerous "skate-wide, and then straight into the goalie" tactic that he employs multiple times in every game. He nearly seriously injured another player when he pulled that #### on the Flames last week, and I have no doubt that it is only a matter of time before he kills himself or someone else because of it.

Prior to that he missed significant time from a high ankle sprain, and upon returning after his long post concussion battle he took a howitzer to the jaw. He’s had the #### kicked out of him his entire career.

And yet, no Sportsnet documentaries about it? Weird.

No jokes I'd take MacKinnon over McDavid right now.
I have less interest in the guy that will put up a power play goal per game but will be on the ice for 2 even strength goals against.
