Obviously Johnny and Monahan have ridiculous chemistry, but putting this together reminded me just how well Lindholm and Gaudreau click as well. Especially their perfect passes through the PK box. This video spans pre-season (starting in China) to the awesome comeback win NYE against SJ.
Dang, watching these highlights you can definitely tell that something is off with Gaudreau this season. Just not enough speed and dynamic abilities down the middle. Especially highlighted by Cassie at the 8:04 mark.
Also the hustle seems a little low this season as shown by the next highlight.
Watching those highlights again, you really notice how confident and determined he was last year. It's like he knew he was either gonna score or make a great play every time he stepped on the ice, and he went out and did it on a consistent basis.
That confidence and creativity has all but disappeared this season. How does such an exciting, dynamic, and talented player become a shell of his former self after just one summer? It's absolutely baffling. I'm sure he'll eventually pull out of this current funk, but it would be nice if he could do it sooner than later.

Call me crazy but I thought Gaudreau's first 4-5 games of the season this year were excellent. He had 7 points through 5 games and was threatening and making things happen every time he had the puck. Then out of no where started looking like a complimentary player.
I remember he went on that 11 game goalless drought and didn't smile or look remotely happy after he finally scored. Honestly looks like a guy who has lost his passion for whatever reason. Here's hoping he can gain it back soon.
