From a defensive standpoint the Flames played a decent game in their own end. I'm really not a huge fan of how they're breaking out right now, they're not attacking with strength in numbers. too many 1 on 2 or 1 on 3 rushes.

Feels like Lindholm and Tkachuk are slowly overtaking Gaudreau and Monahan as the impact forwards on this team.
The true mark of a good player is their ability to produce in difficult circumstances and score big goals at important times, and particularly the ability to do so at even strength. Elias and Matthew have been that in just about every game we've won this season.
Those goals have been few and far between for Johnny and Sean for a while now.
I know Gaudreau will rebound at some point to being productive, probably once we get on a roll (and Sean's scoring with that). But we will still know exactly which forwards shined when the games were most difficult.
Hopefully all this serves as even more motivation for those guys to take their games to another level, once they resurface from the land of the snakebitten.

Lindholm and Chucky are gamers. I if you had a choice to start a Fresh team between the 4. Who do you take?
I'll take a win any day of the week after what this team has been through over the last few days, try and give them a little bit of a nice feeling.
Lucic had a few grade A chances that were either blocked or hit someone, so unlucky not to have his first goal. That third line is playing so well at the moment, love watching them on the ice.
Boy oh boy is gaudreau no good at the moment, he is managing to almost kill that line on his own. There was one interesting comment by CassieCampbell in the first period where she mentioned that he had changed his stick supplier this year and gone from a Warrior to CCM (Sponsorship I guess), I wonder if the change is causing a lot of the problems and the stick just doesn't feel the same??
Yeah, I heard that comment regarding changing his stick from Warrior to CCM as well...definitely could be contributing I suppose. His magic with the puck seems to have diminished. He couldn't even flip the pick to the linesman at a faceoff and then immediately checked his stick as if something was wrong but there wasn't.
That is just one small part I bet because his looks totally mental. He doesn't seem to have the defenders on their toes like he used to. He is still relatively young though and hasn't really had a prolonged slump like this in his NHL career so I hope the organization is doing what they can to help him break it (which I'm sure they are). I hope he isn't getting the same treatment from them as a lot on here. "Trade him" "He sucks".
I'll definitely agree something is really off for sure but I'm hoping he regains some sort of swagger because when he's "on" he's a real treat to watch and he opens up a lot of room for his linemates.

Since today is the end of Movember, and we will likely see a lack of facial hair on a lot of players tomorrow, can we stop for a second and appreciate the soup strainer on Dillon Dube?
Seriously, that's a thing of beauty. And the kid is all of what...21 years old? Imagine what that thing will be like when he's 30? He'll be Wilford Brimley already!
Also, yay! Flames win!!!
Looks like a cross between Burton Cummings and Welcome back Kotter. And yes, I have to accept that those references totally date me.

Flames season has went about as poorly as it could have up until this point, and still they are only 5 points out of the division lead and just a point out of a playoff spot.
Hopefully they can turn it around and get going now with Peters gone.
It wasn’t the game I was hoping for but glad to get the regulation win none the less. Glad the team appears to be building towards a run but I am still not fully satisfied with their play. A game against the Sabres and then Kings later this week should help build more confidence.
If the Oilers lose in regulation tonight the Flames will have cut their 10pt lead on us in half in the course of one week
