How cool would it be if he turned out to be a Pavelski type versatile player

It's great that he's playing C, as he'll learn more about defensive hockey. Easy to transition back to RW in the pros.

The Hockey News top 100 NCAA prospects
Flames have 3 on the list
Quote:
8. Arsenii Sergeev, G, UConn: Maybe I'm higher on Sergeev than most, but from the NAHL to USHL, all this kid has done is impress. The Calgary Flames pick arrives in Connecticut after earning USHL goalie of the year honors.
9. Matt Coronato, RW, Harvard: Another Calgary Flames prospect, Coronato was who we expected him to be as a freshman, putting up more than a point per game for the Crimson. How much better will he be after another summer of training?
87. Jake Boltmann, D, Notre Dame: After being blanked as a freshman, Boltmann found his footing last year and put up 13 points from the blueline. The Calgary Flames pick has also really helped out the Notre Dame penalty kill.

Hobey Baker watch lists
https://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-...ward-watchlist
Quote:
Matthew Coronato, Harvard | Forward | Sophomore
Another super sophomore to make the list, Coronato had quite the debut season for the Crimson in 2021-22.
The 2021 first-rounder to the Calgary Flames had 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points in 34 games. Coronato is a gifted goal scorer who has shown jumps in his development each season, going back to his days in the USHL. If he keeps trending the way he has the past few seasons, he should surpass last season's goal total with ease on a Harvard team with considerable expectations.
He'll look to find the same connection with setup man Sean Farrell as the Crimson make another push in the national conversation.

Matt Coronato, RW, Harvard (Calgary Flames)
After putting up 36 points in 34 games as a freshman last season, Coronato looks poised for an even bigger role on a Harvard team that has high expectations coming into the season. Coronato is a natural goal scorer who filled the net 18 times last season. The year prior, he had 48 goals in 51 USHL games, which was a 30-goal improvement from his rookie season. We won’t see a jump that big, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Coronato to score 25 to 30 goals. In NCAA hockey, hitting 30 is extremely tough to do, but I think he has the skillset for it. I also think Coronato's teammate Sean Farrell has a really strong shot at contending this year as an exceptional playmaker.

Amazing that they put Sergeev ahead of Coronato, and that early on the list. We picked a good one there…..

All I can get

As mentioned previously, Sergeev shares the UConn net with Logan Terness (undrafted, but a formidable goaltender in his own right). I wonder if his development will be helped by the competitive environment, or if he should turn pro early.

they were both 7th round picks, so expectations should have started very low; since being drafted, one might be encouraged based on performance

Finishes the game with 3 assists but zero shots on net, which is a bit surprising.
