Best source for a cheap iPhone for Airplay/Disney App? Kijiji it?
So, longtime Samsung/Android user and I don't really plan to switch to Apple for everything. However, I have two use cases that are annoying me enough to consider buying an older iPhone.
1) Bought an LG smart TV and for the love of everything cannot get it to cast. I can go to (for example) the Disney Plus app on the TV and use that, but that requires using the remote as a pointer and is terrible. I much prefer to queue things with my phone and hit cast. I probably should have bought a "dumb" TV and just kept my chromecast, but my old TV died and this one was on sale...
2) Have a Disneyland trip planned, and there is a known issue where their Genie+ service doesn't work with some Android devices registered outside the USA. It appears that includes both my and my wife's Samsung phones.
I'm thinking of buying an older iPhone to use for the trip, and then use it as a TV remote after. Obviously not looking to spend a ton - is kijiji a reasonable source for this? Seems sort of sketchy to me, especially as I really have no idea how to evaluate quality other than obvious stuff (screen broken?). Tips appreciated.
