And a non-stop motor on the forecheck and backcheck. I think he will eventually make it for the reasons you stated as well as being such a good puck-hound.

In his draft year in the J20 League, he scored 26 goals in 29 games, a dominant performance. In the last 20 years, only Anze Kopitar (with 28) has scored more in his draft season. He's playing in the SHL now, where players his age (20) don't play a lot, but he's still second in his age group in goals (8)-so as the numbers indicate, he's much more goal-scorer than playmaker. In the draft, many pundits predicted he would go in the 3rd/4th round, but many teams liked his game-Flames were after him, but Florida got there first.
Heineman plays a pretty rambunctious game-he's gritty and physical, has a good motor, and plays a good 200-ft game. Real puck hound. He's got excellent straight-line speed, albeit not elite. Nice size, at 6'1".

Any idea if he'll cross the pond and play in the AHL next season?

I have read that he was expected to sign his ELC this upcoming summer and join the Heat next season, but according to Elite Prospects he signed an extension with his Swedish team in December for 3 years. I assume this contract has an out clause to come to NA though.

“That’s my goal — to develop as a player to be able to put that jersey on and hopefully a lot of seasons in Calgary,” Heineman said.

“I just felt like it suits me playing in Canada,” Heineman said. “I’ve been there two times when I was smaller and I love being there. I didn’t feel, like, connected to Florida or anything, because I hadn’t been there at all. So I felt like this is a fresh start. And there are a couple of Swedes there too, so I was all positive.”

Didn't realize he played on the same team as Kasimir kaskisuo. Been following KK on YouTube.
His latest vlog had Emil Heineman and he asked him what he knew about Calgary and he responded with its cold and alot of Swedes.... Lol... Didn't realize we are known for our rodeo (stampede).
