He is signed with Leksands until the end of the 21/22 season. The Flames have a window to sign him during the offseason with the transfer agreement and paying a transfer fee.
Not much to say because he hasn't talked about the trade yet with any Flames based media. At the time it was because his team was in the playoffs and he denied media requests because he wanted to focus on that. But since being eliminated he still hasn't been interviewed. At least I haven't seen any.

Is this like a Brett Pollock scenario where he was a second round pick but despite the draft pedigree never became an NHL prospect, or is this a higher caliber prospect with real upside?
I'd say he's an important part of the equation for the Bennett return, hoping this is someone that has legit shot at being an NHLer.

You would think the Flames would be looking for some positive news and wanting to pump the tires on their best prospects. We haven't hear one iota on Heineman since the deal. He was mentioned in the acquisition but not much after that, with very few details on the player or where he fits in the organization. Kind of weird.

Everything I have seen or read about him makes me believe he is a legitimate prospect, including Conroy stating that the Flames were interested in him in during his draft. I think he is going to be a player, but I am surprised there isn't more news out there about him from the organization. Maybe they are just waiting for training camp.

Heineman involved in some controversy today. Marcus Sorensen threw Emil's head to the ice, no penalty and looks like no suspension coming. Only penalty to Heineman for goalie interference. Bad look for the SHL.
