I am a Nintendo supporter but have lost being able to call myself a fan. Just too many bad decisions and disappointments -- I would be thrilled to see that change tomorrow and will be tuning in, but I'm not holding my breath.
Prepare to be disappointed then. Literally nothing in Nintendo's history suggests they will be satisfied to become nothing more than a clone of PS4/XB1. What interests me though is the thoughts of it being a hybrid console/handheld.
It's been reported they have bought Nvidia chips, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't something similar to the Shield given the talk of a hybrid like system. Publishers are pretty positive about it, so that's a good sign. Also announced that the new Zelda will be WiiU/NX.
Hopefully they give it a decent name, at least. Maybe they will just go with the Nintendo. Or stick with their naming scheme and call it the I.
Well, 45 minutes to go.

From the looks of it, the Switch will basically be a portable Wii U without the touchscreen. I'm ok with that. I have thoroughly enjoyed gaming on the Wii U but the lack of third party software hurt. As others said above, hopefully it hits the right price point.
On a related note, I remember someone mentioned that Amazon Prime gave a discount off of pre-order games. Any idea if it applies to consoles as well?
So it's got a game cart slot that looks very similar in size to DS/3DS. I wonder if it will be compatible? I'm guessing it will have some internal memory, and the base station may have more storage, or the ability to use USB storage. Hopefully it has some ability to take movies on the go, the screen size looks great for planes and travel.
Battery life will be important, hopefully they can get up to 10 hours. They didn't show any touch screen, but you have to assume capacitive. Please.
Controller looks to be a fairly standard layout, 2 sets of shoulder buttons. Though with them being detachable, it opens up options for customization.
