So after speaking to one of the powers that be here, I have been told it is okay to post our game day thread in the Flames forum since there was interest over there to follow the prospects during the playoff run.

So if you are wondering why it's not here, it's because it's in the main forum. Or will be late Thursday so it's not buried.

Looking forward to the Heat going on a long playoff run and some of the guy who are knocking on the door of the NHL to have a big playoff. I hope the games are available to watch somehow sans subscription.

It might be difficult as the Heat games are typically not broadcast on TV locally and neither are the Griffins games. So even if you were to use an "alternative" method to find a stream, they don't exist.

Our best hope is that Sportsnet decides to carry some AHL games and since Toronto and Abbotsford (potentially OKC as they have the Edmonton connection) are the only Canadian teams in it and playing teams close to the border, we could get some games.

Just got an email that the AHL Playoff Packages are now up on the website. $44.99 to get the Abbotsford Heat team package for Rounds 1 and 2: https://ahl.neulion.com/ahl/secure/r...rform?type=all

You can also buy individual games for $9.99 each.

Is that for PPV or online streaming?

All the games are streamed online. You can either watch on computer or your iphone/ipad with the AHL app.

$9.99 is for a one game PPV style.

$49.99 is for all games in Round 1 and 2 played by the Heat.

To give you a rough idea of how it looks/sounds, they usually use the stream to make these Heat highlight videos:

Wow, I thought I overpaid for the regular season. I don't think I can justify paying $50 for potentially no more than 3 games

Wait? I have to pay again? Yea. The regular season price was way too expensive. I bought a package for EVERY NHL game for cheaper than the Abby only pass I bought with AHL Live. If I have to pay again for playoffs after giving them that kind of financial support already I'm going to be pissed.

edit: i'm pissed.

Yea, I agree that it's a bit (ok a lot, who am I kidding) of a money grab to pay for the post season if you've already purchased a full regular season team pass or full pass. I'm pretty sure the NHL Centre Ice package includes playoff games if you've already bought the package during the season.

If you buy for the entire season, it should include the playoffs. That would just make sense.

Ward on 960 right now.
He says he hopes to get Poirier, Klimchuk and Kulak into some playoff games as it's part of their development. High praise for Poirier saying he's like Bure (think I heard that right), he's up to full speed after a step and a half. He's also not afraid to go into the dirty areas and sees him as a 20 or 30 goal scorer in the NHL.

Sieloff is skating with the team but I think that's already been reported.

It's a gray area. Mods can tell me to take it down. But it's not illegal. The site has been running for 4 years and has never had a single lawsuit filed against it.

I'd guess $65-70. Any regular price ones I've seen are $129.99.

I was all like, 'WTFBBBQSauce!'

But now I'm better.

Screw the Stanley Cup until the Flames are back in. Worthless hunk of tin compared to the Calder.
