Three point game for Poirier and he pots his 2nd pro goal. Assist to Billins.

3-0 Heat after 1.

Elsewhere: Grand Rapids and Lake Erie are tied at 2 after 2, and Chicago and Milwaukee are scoreless late in the first.

I love that Poirier has 2G+2A in his first four periods of pro hockey. I remember being so bummed out when he was drafted but this year has been incredible for him. Crazy skilled and real feisty. Flames haven't had a guy with his point to PIM ratio in the system in all the years I've followed the team.

So these kids we have, they're kind of good eh?

Awesome to see Granlund jump right back into the fray after such a long injury.

And Poirier bringing his game to the pro level and doing well? Well I'll be!

IDC what anyone says, Feaster did a good re-tool through the draft on the fly. All of the kids are extremely promising! Keep it up!

I'd say Poirier's making a good case for himself to stay in the lineup for the playoffs...

(I haven't seen any of it but 4 points in 4 periods is quite the start!)

Granlund getting some good chances in the last couple of seconds. Ortio standing on his head. That's it for the second period.

Only "cool" thing about the Stars first goal was that it was scored by a guy who I went to Elementary school, haha.

Seeding Update:

Quote:
@brandon_astle: Grand Rapids & Lake Erie going to a shootout. If GR wins, they clinch 2nd and cannot face the Heat in round 1. CHI up 3-0 on MIL....

Lake Erie wins the shootout. If Chicago holds on to win, the Heat will play the Griffins in the first round.
