ha - can you imagine other gm's... they see cony's number pop up on call display and know they are on the phone for at least the next 2-3 hours... and likely won't need to say much!

Well if that's going to happen (really anything could happen this summer) then it certainly won't hurt for him get his feet wet on an international level, working outside the Flames and seeing other viewpoints on players and team building.

His first order of business will be to fire Sutter. Can you imagine a GM like him tolerating a toxic work environment? He's literally the antithesis of a toxic personality, and I can't imagine he'd let it continue when there's an easy solution.

I would worry that Conroy isn't detached enough to make hard business decisions that would impact players and their families. I don't know the guy personally, but he seems like a really nice guy which can make decisions like that more difficult. I could be wrong about him though and maybe he wouldn't have any issues doing it.
That's why sometimes it is better to hire someone from the outside who hasn't built close interpersonal relationships within the organization. I think whoever takes over as GM, should be able to have a cold, hard look at the roster without bias.

Yeah...when he was on after burner and was talking about Sutter it was pretty interesting.
You can tell he does respect Sutter...but you could also tell he didn't really seem to like Sutter or how Sutter goes about his business.

I'd pay money to see this. Literally. As in I would gladly buy tickets to watch that team play hockey.
Edit: Better idea: Connie and Tree both co-GMs, with Connie in charge of player and personnel decisions and Tree in charge of contract and trade negotiations.
