I watch essentially everything with subtitles, and in a way 1899 is even more confusing with them on as only 1/3 of the show is English, with the other half dozen languages subtitled already.
I'm on episode five now, and it has finally grabbed my interest - but only barely.

I get hooked on the previews on Netflix and when Stanley Tucci came up I said why not? Turns out, "Inside Man" was a colossal pile of doodoo. I don't know what it was really but I wanted to punch each character in the face. Lame writing, terrible acting, pure junk that I'm wondering how they got him to agree to. 0.5 stars out of 10. Junk. Don't waste your time.

I was a massive fan of Dark, so 1899 is right up my alley...
but boy, is there a LOT going on...I trust that the show runners have a plan, just like they did for Dark.
They definitely don't hold you hand that's for damn sure.

Dark and 1899 require putting your phone in another room. Get distracted and you’re be lost and confused.

Watching Wednesday and it's kinda like Harry Potter and a CW show in a blender with high production values and adequate acting and writing.
Which is to say it's not as good as Addams Family Values, which is peak Wednesday.
But I still find myself smiling a lot while watching it. Maybe the nostalgia is hiding any serious flaws but whatever it's fun.

Well, I shouldn't really have liked Wednsday. But I did.
CTZ as Morticia? Win.
Fred Armisen as Fester? Huge freaking win.
Wednsday? Perfect
The only two they didn't really get right were Pugsley and Gomez. Gomez really needs to be Raul Julia and Noone else. Or someone as spry.
Overall, it was good. Even if the plot formula did come from CW teeny bopper garbage.
I laughed waaayore than I thought I would, and Wednsday everything her face lit up happy, it was perfect. As good as Ricci
Speaking of supporting cast, Gwendolyn Christie was great and so was Ricci.
It's worth the watch IMO.

disagree completely.
I grew up with the Adams Family, and I loved the original series, so I still love John Astin. not sure about spelling but he just had that je ne sais quoi.
The Guzman, I'm not sure yet, but I like that he to me actually looks closest to the Gomez from the original comic.
CZJ as Morticia is awesome, but she has big shoes to fill as Carolyn Jones was supreme. Anjelica Huston? meh.

Did you watch 'Dark?' Because its the same thing. That is a show that was fantastic, but if you're not paying attention even for a minute you will be completely lost.
I havent started 1899 yet, but I sort of expected it to be similar.

No, and when I run I often find my mind wandering so yeah neither of these shows will be a good choice.
I need some "pulp fiction"

Lol....DO NOT multi-task while watching Dark. It's such a fun show (haven't started Season 3) but you really need to concentrate because you'll be discover and learn so many insane things and twists that you'll want to be present.

We just finished binging this last night and had the same reaction. Good production with some flaws, but pretty entertaining. Jenna Ortega did a great job as Wednesday.

I realized after a few episodes that she almost never blinks. One of the ways they subtly make her feel a bit weird. She moves her arms around a lot less while walking or moving too.

Midnight Club has been cancelled. I have enjoyed all of Flanagan’s series, but this one was certainly the weakest.

I truly loved Wednesday it was a very fun show! I enjoyed the effort that went into building the mystery, they were able to cast multiple characters in a sinister light to keep you guessing. I found the shows humor to be spot on as well with great support work by Enid.
Also ever scene where Wednesday plays the cello makes her look so damn cool.

Liked Archer’s new season. It won’t bring in new fans but its consistent with the other seasons.

My biggest problem with the new 'Wednesday' show is as a 31 year old man I feel like I just can't enjoy it as much as I would have as a teenager.
I was also too young to watch the original Addams Family just slightly so there is no nostalgic feeling for me there.
I really do love Jenna Ortega's work and am a sucker for anyone that stars in A24 films and felt she did a solid job in X.
But I don't know if i'm going to continue this show 2 episodes in.. I definitely do understand why it's breaking records and an absolute hit with other age groups however.
