It bothers me all the people that voted conservative in the last provincial election aren't continuously apologizing to the rest of us. This isn't Danielle Smith's or Tyler Shandro's fault. It's yours. You voted these obvious train wreck conservatives into power and now we're still dealing with their mean stupidity. Fataing smarten up. This hasn't been the party of Klein or fataing Don Getty for a decade. This is for sure worst case scenario, but Kenney was terrible, too, made further terrible decisions, and now we have Smith because of him, but really because of the voters. Ffs. Take some responsibility and go protest or something to attone and begin to right your wrong.

They will never apologize because they somehow perceive this as "Sticking It To the Libs (Trudeau)" and are all jerking each other off about it on Facebook.

Bull####.
You're out your mind.
When that election happened Danielle Smith was a daytime talkshow Radio host.
To pretend that you saw this coming? Bull.

That's what they genuinely believe. They think that by allowing gay people to get married, their religious beliefs are being discriminated against. Note that the federal law is very explicit in saying that no church/temple/etc. is compelled to perform a wedding ceremony for LGBTQ people if it is against their religious beliefs; the law just says that marriage licenses issued by the government cannot be denied to same-sex couples who otherwise meet all the requirements for a legal marriage.

Bull#### nothing. I'm not saying I predicted Smith. I'm saying almost every NDP voter - of which there were many - could easily and obviously see a terrible group of conservatives with terrible policies who were not even trying to govern in a manner best for all - they were trying to govern in a way best for their supporters and fata the rest of this.
Of course the Conservative government's terrible governing should be blamed on the people who voted for the Conservative government. It's 100% their fault.

We didn't see Smith coming, but we saw the trainwreck coming. Remember when Kenney weaseled his way into the position(potentially illegally if we ever get the results of that investigation), forced the merger of the far right extremists, when we warned they would takeover the party, and it'd be Reform 2.0?
Sliver isn't making stuff up, just because Conservatives at the time refused to listen to the voices warning of disaster, doesn't mean people weren't warning of it. He's 100% correct.

Yea Kenney made it painfully obvious who he was during his leadership campaign and people still voted for him. That election made it clear that it doesn't matter how big of a dirtbag someone is, if they have that blue C next to their name that's all that matters to a disturbingly large chunk of Alberta voters

I think many people made comments about this party being a trainwreck and they were told they were overreacting, and to give them a chance.
It's not like Jason Kenney is worlds away from Smith, he's just a lot smarter about it.

Kenney is a professional politician, Smith is a professional peid piper and opportunist. Smith will do and say anything for 1 vote and 3 times as much for 2 votes. Smith is dangerous because she is desperate, this is her last kick at the cat on numerous fronts and she knows it.

Look, I'm with you, and I didn't vote for them. But saying the other side knew this was a terrible idea is pretty funny. Isn't that the case for every election, ever?

I've never seen someone in this country so desperate for political power. Her insatiable need for power, prestige, and the manipulation of the system to her liking is unlike anything we've seen before. Narcissistic, ignorant, selfish, misinformed, and unveiling more and more sociopathic behavior everyday.
The worst part is the numpties she has in her caucus who apparently care more about their political careers than integrity, professional standards and having a moral compass.
Alberta is in a VERY dark place. You folks need to make some serious noise.

I'm not sure how frequently I've been this complimentary of the PM over the past 5 or so years, but watching that Trudeau clip... I'm pretty sure he nailed it. That's basically the perfect response.
