Kraft/Heinz Project Play has been running for the last 10 years, helping build playgrounds in communities across Canada.
Penbrooke Meadows area school, St Peter Elementary, is without a playground, as theirs was removed last year, after 24 years of usage, and no doubt, no longer meeting code. They have been trying to raise funds toward building a new playground, but as you can imagine, that's a slow process.
The school was nominated for Project Play and has reached the final voting round. They are the only school in Alberta to be nominated (other cities nominated include Belleville ON, Antigonish NS, and Shaunovan SK).
If they win the grand prize, they receive $250K toward building a new playground. Voting only goes for the next 4 days, and you can vote multiple times, there are no restrictions, and you do not have to register to vote.
