Default Disgusting Everyday Things

Can you believe we still lick envelopes to seal them, and then pass them off for multiple people to handle with their bare hands? It's fataing disgusting. I know there are those envelopes with an adhesive already on them, so you just peel off the backing like a sticker - they should all be like that.

What other things are there that are super gross we don't think much of?

I suppose animals defecating and urinating in and around homes is pretty gross.

I was thinking about this the other day. What is something that everyone touches and never gets cleaned? Gas pumps is one for sure.

Every time I walk by a phone booth (albeit rarely, now), I shudder to think of how commonly used they used to be. How many people had their faces & mouths right up against the handset? I mean, who was responsible for cleaning those things? How often was it done? Gross.

Now it's water fountains. I see people use them, and the water that they don't capture with their mouths runs around their lips and falls back down, and in some cases right back on to the spot where the water shoots out. Then the next person takes a gulp.

Dish rags... they have the highest bacteria counts, worse than toilet seats, yet people rub them all over their food prep surfaces.

People who lick their fingers when eating, e.g. Hot wings.

I only send mail for Business purposes so.....my business owns glue-sticks because I'm not licking envelopes.

I talked to the President of the company and hes cool with it. He makes sure that I have enough glue sticks and if we dont he personally goes out and gets them.

Yeah, I used to love going to hotels when I was younger, but as I get older and more germaphobic I enjoy it less and less. I'm really happy with my RV purchase this year in part because of that. Everything is clean and mine.

Hands get dirty. Then you wash them.

Oh so this is going to be the CP germophobe thread.

Relax, most of this stuff won't kill you. It's not that disgusting.

Unless someone is a lazy pet owner, how is this any different from people going to the washroom in a house?

I know a few people with cats and they are diligent enough with the littler box that you'd never know it was there and no one I know would ever willingly allow their dog to go to the washroom in the house.

Hand on remote, hand into bag of chips, chip into dip, chip into mouth, hand to beer can (that probably had rats running around on the lid). Repeat.

My biggest one is the latch in a public toilet stall. Don’t be locking that then touching your junk. It’s the first thing everyone touches BEFORE they wash their hands........ if they do.

Airport security clearance areas. The amount of humiliation passengers have to take nowadays is outright disgusting. NEXUS or no NEXUS... Standing in lines. Taking shoes off and walking barefoot on the floor that's mopped by the same mops they use to clean washrooms. Taking your belt off and putting it on in front of everyone else at the risk of your pants falling off. Having your completely trivial private stuff touched and taken all out of your carry-on, just because a moron in front of the screen never saw a camera lens before. Being X-ray'd and patted down. Having to explain that this same sealed little bottle of Peptobismol have cleared two securities on the incoming flights without anyone having an issue with it and having to throw it away nevertheless, just because ...

Funny example: I was going through O'Hare the other day and they announced an experiment, asking people to go through the "accelerated security lane" and telling them NOT to take anything off, NOT to take their laptops out, nothing. Just put the bag on the conveyor belt and walk into the X-Ray. I thought, maybe things are starting to change to commonsensical... Nope. Never saw it happening again...

Outdoor handrails, transit hand rails, bathroom door handles (I see way too many people just walk out with out washing hands).
