How is he as a prospect? Someone to keep an eye on, or put my attention elsewhere?

He probably has one of the best shots among the Flames forward prospects. He is also a right shooting RW which is an organization weakness ATM.

Inconsistent year in the WHL last year so jury is still out if he even plays a NHL game, but intriguing power forward prospect.

If he plays consistently in the Finnish league his stock will increase greatly.

He will develop more playing against Men in Finnish League than teenagers in WHL. Hope he gets lots of ice

how's this kid doing now? I was pretty excited about him and I'd love for him to take the next step. Is he even close? How is the season going for him?

Wasn't there some worries that last year under Kevin Constantine he'd lose some development??

I remember some outspoken folks saying they really really disliked what was going to happen......looks like it did and they were right.

Also. Doesn't he have to commit to serve in the Finnish military as well?

Some context for Tuulola's stats so far. Players who are under 20 years old playing in the top men's league in Finland:

Turkulainen is essentially the Johnny Gaudreau of Finland, small player but shifty . Undrafted but still eligible for this year's draft

Vesalainen and Heiskanen are 1st round picks from 2017.

Koivula is a 4th round pick from 2016 of the Islanders.

Almary is a 2016 5th round pick for the Penguins.

Texier is a 2017 2nd round pick for the Blue Jackets

Kotkaniemi is projected to go in the 1st or 2nd round of the 2018 draft.

So I would say his stats are okay/good, but not great in comparison.

Tuulola scored a PP goal tonight. Highlights

Nice to see he is getting PP time. Also looks like he is getting ice time with some of the team's point leaders.

Tuulola named to Finland's roster for the u20 4 nations tournament in russia, which is also a good sign for his WJC aspirations.

Tuulola scored the OT winner on Saturday:

Highlights Tuulola's goal starts around the 3 minute mark (great snipe)

Context stats for u20s playing in the Liiga:

At time of posting 6 goals is tied for 27th in goals scored among players of all ages in the Liiga but everyone else who has 6 goals also has some assists.

Tuulola with 2 secondary assists tonight.

26gp 8g 3a 11pts

Looks like Tuulola is getting some 1st line minutes with Vesalainen injured.

Also of news Tuulola signed a contract extension with HPK that ends in 2020 but because there is a transfer agreement between Finland and the NHL this shouldn't pose a problem for the Flames to sign him.

@SimoTeperi
#CalgaryFlames 2016 6.round pick Eetu Tuulola leads #HPK in xGF% and ixGF60 at 5v5. Still he seems to have hard time getting points. So he's should be due to get a few bounces in. #Liiga

Tuulola scored his 10th of the season yesterday. Just parked himself in front of the net and refused to move.

http://liiga.fi/ottelut/2017-2018/ru.../315/seuranta/ (starts around the 2:10 mark)

edit:
Here is his 9th goal of the season too:
http://liiga.fi/ottelut/2017-2018/ru.../300/seuranta/ (1:14 mark)

similar goal
