Maybe teams with more than one 5th in the 2024 draft could get one 5th round pick in that draft? And the teams with 1 or 0 just don’t have one. Then it is in full effect for 2025?

Good changes all around. That's why the league's brass get the big bucks.

Double checking, does this seem right then?

- The Arizona Coyotes will move to Philly and move to the Metro
- The current Philly team will move to Winnipeg and move to the Pacific
- The Nashville Predators will move to Boston and move to the Atlantic
- The Red Wings will move to the Central

Can we move to Tempe and become the Coyotes?

Genuinely curious. Would this actually be possible? Just switch teams and rosters?

Just so everyone knows ... I've proposed an additional realignment to the league that would see Columbus move to the Metropolitan (matching the NHL) and NYI moving to the Central. NYI would then become the new Arizona.

So these would be all the team changes, with the bolded adding to what Grant said before:

- The Arizona Coyotes (flambers) will move to Philly and move to the Metro
- The current Philly team (JonDuke) will move to Winnipeg and move to the Pacific
- The Nashville Predators (cambam) will move to Boston and move to the Atlantic
- The Red Wings (savemedrzaius) will move to the Central
- The Islanders (TheScorpion) will move to Arizona and move to the Central
- The Blue Jackets (Knut) will move to the Metro

Which would create these divisions:

Metro
Carolina (Doug)
Columbus (Knut)
NJ (Pat)
NYR (devo)
Philly (flambers)
Pittsburgh (cheese)
Washington (bagopucks)

Atlantic
Boston (cambam)
Buffalo (sportsjunky)
Florida (Abstract)
Montreal (Goffie)
Ottawa (blaster)
Toronto (Quigz)
TB (agulati)

Central
Arizona (TheScorpion)
Chicago (Tilley)
Colorado (macho)
Dallas (bluenoser)
Detroit (savemedrzaius)
Minnesota (Grant)
St. Louis (rumy)

Pacific
Anaheim (Curtis)
Calgary (Ravi)
Edmonton (savardandjokinen)
LA (Harry Lime)
SJ (Dave)
Vancouver (Don't Toews Me Bro)
Winnipeg (JonDuke)

Although I almost wonder whether Winnipeg should be in the Central and Arizona in the Pacific ... but this is all speculative anyway.

I've talked to CBJ about it, they're fine shifting divisions. I really wanna move to AZ.

That means I’ll play scorpion more times a year. I’m cool with it

For later...I'm biased, but moving JonDuke's squad to the Pacific makes for a number of asset strong teams in the same division.

The Eastern conference needs more asset strong teams, not less.

I'm just very disappointed that no one has asked to relocate to Hartford yet to bring back the Whale.

How about two teams in the city of brotherly love instead?

Geographically, shouldn't Arizona and Winnipeg switch divisions?
