I was positive Colt McCoy was in coaching but realized I had him confused with Major Applewhite. Aging sucks.

Yikes, that halftime show. Were the fans booing there? In Mexico it’s usually whistles but that was painful to watch.

Trey Lance getting hurt may have been the best thing for SF this year.

I thought this game was going to get away from Arizona in the 2nd quarter. But it's running away now. The 49'ers do have a talented group now that could fo dome damage if they stay healthy.

49ers are rolling, I guess, especially if you listen to Joe Buck but they have the same record as Seattle right now and Arizona has checked out...they are garbage and have been for weeks.

I get what you're saying as the 49ers have only played two teams who currently have a winning record with Seattle being one of those teams. Losses to the likes of Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver don't exactly suggest a powerhouse.
Even with what they have left its 3 of 7 teams over 500 with two of them being Seattle and Washington. Tampa Bay is 500 right now do maybe that makes it 4. So it gets tougher, but by no means is it a murders row.

If they put Streveler in against the Patriots they would have won.

Imagine in a three year span picking a QB at 3rd overall and 2nd overall and ending up with Darnold and Wilson. That's the stuff of nightmares.

it's a shame too because they seem to have made progress in other areas and Saleh seems like a good coach. But yeah, talk about whiffing on those QB picks ... and they traded up for Darnold too.

It's why the 49ers would have been much better off using that draft capital spent on Lance to fortify the rest of their roster as they would be even better today. Also why the Packers created a lot of unnecessary grief wasting a 1st round pick on Love. Had they just drafted a WR they wouldn't have had to deal with all that Rodgers drama and they would be better off with more talent for him to work with.

Wasn't Wilson a one-year wonder in college who shot up the draft boards because desperation?

I seem to recall Wilson getting some Mahomes shouts during the draft process because of his arm talent. Which is just another reminder that arm talent doesn't dictate much. But once Hall got hurt and their run game went from exceptional to league average Wilson was exposed. Might still be salvageable in the right situation, but for now he's not even a good backup. His attitude stinking doesn't help matters.

I wouldn’t say he was a one year wonder. As a BYU fan he progressed great and was warranted a first-round selection, probably not a top 3 pick though. I would’ve thought he’d be more of where Fields went. I honestly don’t know what’s up with him. I still think he would’ve flourished in SF but that’s the way it goes. Off by one.

Wasn't the draft buzz around Wilson that he was "Morman Mahomes"? The Jets are not the most creative team offensively but he didn't strike me as a player committed to getting better. This benching appears to be about attitude. Will be interesting to see what the Jets do with Mike White. Could be a Heinieke situation where despite the lack of talent, the other 45 guys on the roster will be motivated to play harder because they don't hate him.

Just goes to show that NFL scouts still don't know how to evaluate QB's. It's an inexact science but so many teams fall in love with flawed QB's and seem surprised when those flaws show up in their pro game. I also think the media hypes these kids up so much and the fans expect them to be great early. I think the league would be better served to be more conservative with drafted QB's and have almost all of them hold a clipboard for one or two years. It seems the focus now is to win with a QB on his rookie contract but the problem is most of these guys are busting and teams like the Jets keep repeating the cycle of drafting QB's and throwing them into sink or swim situations.
