Sane minds prevailed. The Liberals realized just how bad it would have looked to have an early election because she wouldn't testify. It's easy campaign ammo for the opposition and Trudeau would have been pounded with questions of what are they hiding.

The easy questions for this committee are 1. Was the PMO briefed by CSIS on this issue before the last election? 2. Was Trudeau briefed by CSIS or the PMO before the last election?

Edit: What CC said ^^

She's probably going to coach a lot of her answers or lack of with. Sorry that's a National Security issue.

Its tiring to see how many MP's from all the party are now so willing to lie in the house.

Well...that seems like a 'Glass Houses and Stone Throwing' kind of lesson.

That man has style. No question about that.

Considering it was the Conservatives motion that finally forced Justin's hand its pretty disingenuous of Singh to try and take a victory lap over them

Singh has a lot to gain from all this. The LPC is propped up by the progressive vote.

Well, Singh knows where his bread is buttered and it comes out of the same bank account that Justin uses.

Trudeau wanted this to magically go away so you can bet that Singh did too.

Singh is trying to all take credit for the Telford testifying, which is disingenuous for sure.

And Singh doesn't want it to go away, he is milking it for political capital. If Singh had wanted it to go way, he would have supported Trudeau making Telford's testimony a Confidence Measure and the whole thing would have been buried. Trudeau wouldn't have done the whiplash about face and the LPC would have gone ahead to have the Conservative motion defeated.

Well he isn't responsible for it, but when backed into a corner he at least found himself on the correct side. Too bad we can't say the same for the Liberals are their supporters.

Well this was a deal between Justin and Jagmeet, by voting down the Conservative motion, which had other ministers that the Cons felt needed to testify as well as giving the committee 3 hours of questioning, it feels that in a committee with a Liberal chair and the NDP forming a majority that Katie's questioning is going to be throttled and we're going to be back into this fight again if other's need to be questioned.

Oh I have full confidence the pretzel logic of Canadians will figure out a way to forgive blatant corruption and the continued erosion of our government and democratic system due to boogeyman straw men whataboutisms and the continued fearmongering of “WHAT ABOUT THE CRYTPO THOUGH?!?!?”

This government is total garbage. Criminal negligence at minimum. This is how third world cesspool corruption becomes common place and brings down a country, when governments aren’t actually accountable for anything.

LOL Sure his idiotic switching to crypto currency is funny to laugh at, but it's his compassion for sticking olive branches into freedumbers ass that is a major problem! Him and deplorable Murphy Brown.

Your takes are cartoonish at best and downright disturbing at worst in how detached from sensible they are.

Do you actually have an opinion on blatant corruption and why you think it’s acceptable?

Has any government in history been as scandal riddled as the Liberals? Certainly no government has been given this much latitude in history by the general electorate, that’s for sure. But yeah, for sure, I’m sure if the Cons get in we’ll all become frothy racists and abortion will be legalized and social programs entirely eliminated. For sure!

I haven't been following the Chinese interference as closely as many, but how deeply involved are the other parties?

The CPC only has themselves to blame for people being fearful of their social politics. It would be as simple as denouncing members and excluding MPs who hold the problematic* social views.

PP just needs to make an example of an MP who is anti Abortion. Make a show of kicking them out of the room.

*in the eyes of your average centrist voter

Just the other day the Cons denied the nomination of a prolife possible candidate. So that's a step.
