I’m not saying their valuation makes sense or you should buy , just that it’s the reasons they have the valuation
Having self driving shipping trucks means low cost 24 hr shipping . It would change the world .

Looks like Mercedes is actually catching up, if not surpassing Tesla on that front.

They can give Lewis Hamilton six (seven) championship winning cars and still have one left over for Rosberg when they set their minds to it, of course they’ll lick self driving.
Toyota has been putting ACC in every new car they sell going back to at least 2017 - they sell exponentially more cars than Tesla, and I’m sure they collect oodles more data for self driving research than a company that sells 1/7 the volume.
I could be wrong, but I’d love to know what I’m not seeing.

You have to get the timing right. If it was possible to sell short on Tesla and let it ride for a couple decades if necessary, I'd be all in on that.

Don't like Musk and not a Tesla fanboy. However for transparency we do have a Tesla model X and the build quality is quite good. I was prepared for disappointment but to be honest there is nothing wrong with it. 2500k so far. Love the power, ride quality, charge at home, etc... Lots of compelling options out there and more coming as time passes.
Those other companies aren't collecting the data like tesla. Tesla is always connected to the internet. I truly think Tesla has the upper hand here and has so much data from throughout the world. Huge asset imo.
Another thing that I think will be bigger than their cars is their energy storage solutions. This segment is growing quickly.
Tesla - IMO overvalued now but undervalued years down the road primarily due to their energy solutions and not EV.

I didn't know until today that Scott Adams was taking his Dilbert comic to twitter.
I can just imagine the kind of far right themed content he's going to produce.

I wish there was a way to auto-mute anybody with a join date in the 2020s. I realize there'd be some friendly fire mixed in there, but for the most part it seems to be psychos with an agenda. Anything later than Feb 2020, get outta my timeline.

Could go in the American Politics thread as well, but the Musk/DeSantis Spaces couldn't even handle a quarter million listeners today and crashed and burned for a good 30+m until it finally got started after 150 thousand people left.

new twitter news
Twitter has pulled out of the European Union's voluntary code to fight disinformation, the EU has said.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-65733969
Thierry Breton, who is the EU's internal market commissioner, announced the news on Twitter - but warned the firm new laws would force compliance.
"Obligations remain. You can run but you can't hide," he said.
Twitter will be legally required to fight disinformation in the EU from 25 August, he said, adding: "Our teams will be ready for enforcement."
Dozens of tech firms both big and small are signed up to the EU's disinformation code, including Meta - which owns Facebook and Instagram - as well as TikTok, Google, Microsoft and Twitch.
