I think you need to put in the hyphen... (or not put in the hyphen, I can't recall)

Alberta released updated eligibility to include 'Chronic conditions for 18+'... then says they still have to wait for their age cohort to be eligible before getting them anyway. *facepalm* What was the point of that?

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense.

Just trying to keep everyone in their age groups yet again. So stupid.
6 months is 6 months. Let people book already.

I don't know why any of the media didn't ask about that. Is it a shortage of doses? Ability to administer? What's the bottleneck, and why aren't you fixing it, knowing how well a 3rd dose helps against Omicron? Can CP get media accreditation to ask some real questions here?

I got fed up and just called my local Rexall. They told me it's really quiet and to come on down.

I'm 37 with ASD and Anxiety and my family doctor called to book me in? It must be a communication error, perhaps Hanlon's razor.

The premier did take the time to bash the feds about a 'lack of supply'...cause Alberta only has...700,000 doses available. What a maroon.

We called a Medicine Shoppe near us and were able to get in on the date we’re eligible for our booster shot, which was yesterday.

At our peak of administering doses, it took roughly 17 days for Alberta to go through 700,000 doses of vaccine. Of course, one needs to consider the fact that -- at the time -- we had dedicated vaccination centers like the Calgary Telus Convention Centre set up for that purpose and we do not now, so there's no way we would be able to serve up that much vaccine that quickly.
As for 700,000 doses available... who's lying, Alberta Health or Kenney? Because as of December 10th, Alberta Health claimed we had nearly 1.8m doses more than we had administered.

Alberta has wasted (or let expire) a ton of doses; about 10% of what they've received last I saw, which is by far the highest rate in the country. So that probably accounts for most of the difference.

Yeah, I was talking with AB Vax Hunters about that and they confirmed with AB Health that people with chronic conditions (incl pregnancy) are not eligible until they hit their age cohort.
So they added a section to the website to lay out that just like everybody else, people with chronic conditions should get a booster and need to wait for their age cohort..
Another AB Government communications win I guess.

Especially because if you got your vaccine 6 months ago you're presumably in a category that *was* eligible at the time which means you're probably in a higher risk group.

I am not sure about that. 6 months ago is roughly when they started handing out 2nd doses of Pfizer to lower age groups with no underlying conditions, just because 8 weeks had elapsed from the AZ shots that were doled out to everybody over 40.

What the f--k! Holy sh-t, these f-cking idiots are letting doses expire and then suggest we are in short supply and can't open up more availability?
Imbeciles!
