Would love him but it doesn't work for us on a few levels.
I can see someone doing well out of it.
Carolina, Arizona, or maybe the ducks.

Nylander's expected contract does make him unviable though.

8th overall in league scoring....if they get 4 tonight they would be 3rd.
offense is fine.

Before getting Lindholm I would have been all over this but I don’t see any reason to go out and spend assets on Nylander now. Great player and all but I don’t see Calgary as realistic trade partners.

If they'll take a 1st and Bennett or Jankowski then I'm for it.
Basically if you can trade forward pieces and picks to upgrade the forward group then do it. If we'd have to hurt our defense or send our young goalies then no thanks.

Definitely.
If friggin Anaheim or Vancouver get involved then step in to try to up the price. We don't need those damn teams getting a gift. Kane and Karlsson to the sharks was annoying enough.

Thread title bugs me. There is a rumour that Nylander is officially on the trade block? Either it's a rumour or it's official. Not both.

lol. There's a dozen teams that could, and would, top that offer in a second.

They would be a great trade partner for the Leafs.

Calgary couldn't use a guy who scored 8 game winners and was over 51% on faceoffs?
I would love Nylander on the Flames, after we have the goaltending figured out of course.

Not all trades with Toronto have been a disaster...
Dave Gagner for a 3rd
Nikolai Borschevsky for a 6th
Curtis Joseph for a 3rd
3rd (90th Matt Lombardi) and a 5th for a 3rd (74th)
Anton Stralman, Colin Stuart, 7th for Wayne Primeau, 2nd
Joe Colborne for conditional 4th

But the bad ones are enough to make me not want them to ever make a trade with the Leafs again.

Time, maybe, for some wise words from Mark Twain:
