Default Marchand - too far? OR best agitator ever!?!?!

At the Canucks game...2 pretty solid plays. I liked. Your thoughts?

Can there be a middle ground where it certainly wasn't too far but at the same time he is far from the best agitator ever?

the first kissing the ring was Grade A Trolling there's no doubt about it

but the best agitators don't go back to the same thing a 2nd time

also the 2nd time he did it to Richardson who has a cup with LA....

Apparently Marchand only did this because Kesler was eye-gouging him.

Quote:
Marchand defended his actions by saying he was reacting to Kesler "eye-gouging" him.
"I did it after he was eye-gouging me," he said. "My emotions were a little high after that. He's welcomed to say what ever he wants.

I don't like those kind of visible antics - even against the Nucks - there are kids watching.

If they're young Canuck fans it's often too late to save them anyway.

Marchand's a #### but the Canucks are worse. Advantage: Marchand.

Two teams who get away with a bunch of BS in my opinion.

I hate the Canucks, but also find Marchand annoying as hell.

I love it, however if we lost to Boston in the Cup final and he came back and did this to us i'd probably go look for his hotel after the game.

Marchand is a POS. A friend of mine partied with him in Halifax when they won the cup and said nothing but negatives.

Oh heavens! The CHILDREN! Won't you think about THE CHILDREN??

...he kissed the ring, I have to assume you were joking with the kids comment. Pretty effective yet casual taunt. Even the "lifting of the cup" was pretty discrete. The guy is one of the best at what he does.

This isn't Sean Avery. This isn't talking about someone's personal life, or using homophobic or racial slurs, this is just Grade A trolling. He may not be above that, but in this example, he was perfect. Marchand is not only a super effective pest, but when he's at his best, he's doing it without going to the gutter for his material. His job is to get under the skin of the opposing team, and he does it well.

Anyone would be happy to have him on their team.

I'd take him on the Flames 10 times out of 10.

Completely agree with the bold.

And his antics weren't ass bad as a throat slash for instance, but you have to draw the line somewhere and I draw it at the visible stuff (any).

Don't care if you disagree, but mocking a concern for children watching is pretty juvenile.

Love it. I just wish he would have punched Sedin a couple times last night. Its too bad what happened to Iggys finger in the Kesler fight. I wanted Iggy to pump Keslers eyes shut.
