Draisaitl is likely going to the Kings. They will have contracts coming off the book exactly when he hits free agency. Even the Oilers know it's likely going to happen. I'm sure there are a few teams that will try to clear out cap space for when McDavid becomes a UFA to make it work. There's just no way the rest of the league is going to concede that they can't fit him in.

And a whole lot of teams right now have room for McDavid in 2026. Anaheim could set up a nice rivalry with LA.

I'm at a loss...the sheer stupidity of Edmonton media makes the average stupid fans of most other teams look like they've been blessed with absolute brilliance.

Why not just wait for the Oilers to buy out Yamamoto, then sign him to a cheaper contract? If I was Philly, I would take my chances on that instead of trading for that contract. It's not like you lose out on much if it doesn't happen.

This. The absolute ridiculous trade proposal from someone who likes to think he has insight into the game is embarrassing.
Yamamoto is a salary dump at this point. He virtually has negative value. Pretty sure that package would need to also include Bouchard or include Edmonton’s 2024 first round pick + 2024 second round pick.

I assume it would be Campbell, Ceci, Foegle for EK at 50% retention, Sharks 1st 2023, Sharks 1st 2024 and Sharks volunteer to take all of Nurse’s cap hit based in recent proposals from Edmonton media.

On the NHL network today, as a joke, they briefly mentioned McDavid to Chicago for the first overall.
Think about that for a second, it’s not totally nuts as the basis of a trade that might make sense for both teams

Why would the Hawks give up the next generational player who is under an incredibly cheap contract for three years?
I get it, the Conna is the best player in the galaxy good god y'all.
But he's 26 going on 27 with a 12.5 million dollar a year.
Also he outside of last year hasn't been great in the playoffs, this year outside of the pp he was pretty ordinary. He's got a constant bitter beer face, his wardrobe choices are ridiculous and he built a basket ball court with a 6 foot ceiling, oh and he plays entitled and his 2 way game is ridiculously bad. Is that really someone that the Hawks would trade the next big thing for.
