Default Two to Three Outdoor Games 2014-2015

Also hear NHL is leaning to only have 2 or 3 outdoor games next yr. Outside of Wash Jan 1, San Jose very much in mix to host a game as well

Sportsnet reported about the Sharks outdoor game yesterday.

I'm getting kinda bored of these kinds of games already. Too bad they just couldn't stick with one per year, but I understand they're potentially big money makers. When you have as many as we had last year they lose their lustre.

The league really needs to find a way to put a new spin on this whole thing if they're going to keep doing multiple games every single year.

Yes they are very successful now but sooner or later things like this get beaten to death and people stop caring. Especially when its same old every time around.

Especially when you have teams like Vancouver hosting an outdoor game indoors.

I think it would be fun for teams with the fanbase to support it to have one per winter to increase revenue and do something different but they don't seem like a huge deal anymore, the big event atmosphere is gone for me at least.

Yes! Keep diluting the product!

Stick with an annual Winter Classic and a bi (tri?)-annual Heritage. After the Stadium Series last year I honestly couldn't care less about outdoor games. I'd rather see them play in some random venue that doesn't have an NHL team.

That was a failure from the start with the matchup.

The NHL is kinda in a tough spot since team owners want to host these games, and don't want to wait forever for their turn. It would be best to limit it to just Winter Classic and Heritage Classic, but sun climate teams want to get in on the action too, so gotta fit them in as well which doesn't fit the winter theme, as well cold climates want their games sooner rather than later.

Gotta figure Denver, Columbus, and Minnesota want their games very soon, while Dallas, possibly Nashville, and even Phoenix and Tampa Bay want a game.
