I thought so too at first. But apparently, it can be done with the right equipment: http://www.carseatdata.org/

Still, three car seats means the dog is going to have to go somewhere else. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Thule makes a roof rack for Rover.

We have 2 kids, 6 and 3, and we recently downgraded from a Nissan Pathfinder to a Subaru Legacy wagon and have been very pleased with gas savings and performance, without really giving up much room-true only the 4 of us can ride in comfort at one time-we rarely have a need to haul other people around.

I suppose if you use Radians you might be able to squeeze someone in the middle.

I'm a Britax fan myself, very easy to install correctly, no rethreading needed when converting to a front facing seat.

That's the thing, most SUV's out there don't really give you that much more space than a station wagon. Being higher up doesn't really mean anything, most of them are actually fairly tight inside.

Sweet! is it the hatchback? or the sedan style? Welcome to Subaru. You will love your subaru especially on days when everyone else has a excuse not to drive due to the weather.I bought a subaru a year ago and I LOVE IT.

i know when I have my dog (90lbs) in my fusion (more room than a 3) you can maybe get one person in the back seat. He takes up most of it. I now have two and pretty much all I can fit is the one person in the front seat, and if they are brave 1 person in the back but thats pretty squishy for all. I would look at a minivan or SUv at least you can put the dog in the back.

Depends if you're one of those 'animal rights' people

I forgot about the Subies. The 2.5 turbo Forester is awesome. Get up and go like you wouldn't believe, and handles unbelievably well (and I'm making that comparison after jumping out of a sports car). You can get one fully loaded without dvd/nav for about $40k all in.

According to Netskot, this is what we should do, because you know, it's highly safe.

If you use latches, car seats can't share them, so if you have two, you have to put one at each end.

I like Subarus, too, but why do all Subaru drivers pretend other manufacturers don't offer AWD?

Because with a few exceptions, all other manufactures AWD systems are way behind.

I enjoy driving on those days also. And I don't have to do it in a Subaru.

lol 2 reasons.

1. I am biased.
2. Assymmetrical AWD offered by subaru is a multiclutch system which is awesome.there is a difference between the subaru's assymetrical AWD and the other AWD ( to each their own and i dont want to get into a pissing match of which is better.)
