Not watching this game, but why is it so close? Is Tampa phoning it in tonight?

Canucks playing quite well. Tampa has so many weapons and have had a few chances but the Canucks are hanging in there. Had a feeling if Tampa made it 4-1 it could've gotten ugly but the Canucks squeaked one through to make it 3-2 and now it's still a good close game. Credit to the Canucks.

Stamkos with a laser short-side to regain the two goal lead with under three minutes to play.
4-2 TB.

Meh, it wasn't bad, but I'd hate to see this forum if Smith let that shot in.
Palat makes it 5-2.

In other news, the Winnipeg Jets look like crap in this game in LA that they are losing to the Kings.

Quick looked good tonight. Thought he might be a good pick up for the Flames, but that contract may be a bit too lengthy and rich.

The Jets have played a ton of hockey in the last 10 days, traveling time zone changes and just had a rather enormous win against Tampa 2 nights ago. This had trap game written all over it and yet they still needed a ton of luck and bounces. Sucks but can't win them all

Glad the Canucks lost. At least now we won't get an angry Lightning team on Thursday. If the Flames play the way we know they can, that game is gonna be a barn burner. Really hope Rittich gets the start in that one. The thought of a leaky Smith against Tampa's offence scares the hell out of me.

It's a bit sad that we couldn't take advantage of a rare OOT where everyone we're competing with lost except the sharks, but I guess it's pretty good timing too.

You're completely right. It would have been nice to take advantage of a night like tonight. From a positive standpoint, though, it's almost as if tonight's loss doesn't hurt the flames one bit.

Rittich has played well here and the fans would eat Smith alive if he lets in another softy, which could set Smith’s confidence back even more. That has to be factored into the decision.

I'm guessing it will be Rittich Thursday and Smith Saturday.
