Here's your Canada allocated ticketing information for QATAR 2022
https://www.canadasoccer.com/fifa-wc2022-ticket-faq/
You have until tomorrow to be a CanadaRED member to start the process and until April 28 to apply tickets. It's a weighted draw based on membership status.

In path to becoming a 'soccer nation,' venues remain a key hurdle for Canada
https://onesoccer.ca/a/in-path-to-be...-canmnt-canwnt
Just a fun little article on the state of soccer stadiums in Canada.
Really wish Calgary could be in these conversations for national games... but we're so, so far off from that membership circle (CalgaryNEXT was the only legit chance of this, and that's obviously gone). The state / timelines of our pro sports facilities here in Calgary is sad - especially for being the 4th biggest city in Canada and a population on its way to two million.

Flicked on to watch TFC vs Whitecaps, and besides a terrible no goal call,Whitecaps brought on Cavalinni 60mins in.
Just a meathead. Yellow card for late challenge 10 seconds on the field. Slow on his feet and has another 3 fouls since.
Tried a shot from about 40 yards out, 10 yards high and 15 yards wide, to the disgust of his teammates and coach.
Surely there must be a better option on the bench for the MNT.

Meanwhile Ike Ugbo has been red hot in France, scoring for Troyes against PSG today. He's earned himself some big minutes in the June games for sure.

I mean, all of what you said is true, and I think it's acknowledged the guy has his warts, but he basically singlehandedly won his team the game?

I don't think he’s in Herdman’s good books anyways. He played in only 6 games in the final WC qualifying.
58 minutes were spread over 5 matches, including 28 vs Jamaica after the result was in the bag so he could play in his home town. (He’s a prototypical CSA player, Italian, from Toronto, likely how he got his chance coming up as a youth so many years ago.)
The other 60 minutes were against Panama the last game. He did less than zero. Didn’t create anything, didn’t run onto anything, didn’t attempt a shot, and of course got a yellow card. Playing him 60 minutes was charity by Herdman, no way he would’ve lasted that long in a game that meant something.
As soon as he was subbed, his replacement had a string of chances the next 5 minutes (Larea?).
MLS he started the first 4 games of the year, finishing none. Since the WC qualifiers he’s been a starter only once in 4 MLS games and been a sub seeing the field in 3 other games.
He has one MLS goal this season, and 4 cards in 8 matches. 4 goals and 11 yellow cards in his last 30 MLS matches this season and last, and often doesn’t see the field.
Remember, he’s a striker..4 goals and 2 assists in last 30 MLS matches? And he’s a viable option for a backup striker for the World Cup?
He’s also 29, and won’t be around in 4 years, so why not have a spot for on the MNT someone who will be around?

The pass wasn't offside. I was hoping it was, I root for TFC.
The guy had 16 goals for Canada in 21 games from 2018-2021.
He absolutely played a role in turning this team from one that couldn't buy a chance let alone a goal, to one capable of filling the net.
The team has improved and he's regresses, and it's clear the end for him is near. I just don't see it as reasonable to crap on Willcocks one who came in when needed and helped turn things around.

Canada announced a friendly vs Iran in Vancouver on June 5, followed by Nations League games against Curacao in Vancouver on June 9 and Honduras on June 13 in Honduras.
IMO Canada getting a home friendly against a non CONCACAF World Cup squad is a good get, even if Iran isn't a sexy name.

Here's hoping Vancouver can draw a good crowd. The hype train might have lost a bit of momentum since qualifying ended a couple of months ago but with a bit of marketing (which is not a given) I'm sure it will still draw well. Plenty of soccer fans on the west coast who haven't had a men's home game since what, 2016?

Frankly, if they can't sell out the Iran game then they have no business hosting any World Cup games.

Do you think Edmonton would sell out an Iran/Canada friendly? I have my doubts. This is a pretty huge step down from WCQ games.

Smart booking by Iran. Play the team that beat through qualifying, the team who is one of your WC group opponents.
Canada should try and get someone who finished just behind the Morrocans. DR Congo?
Hopefully tickets in Vancouver do well, and all Fifa eyes will be on the venue to see the local response, but it's about the team prep for the biggest tournament in the world, not a chance for the CSA to be creating some circus atmosphere.
Uncharted waters playing friendlies that mean something tangible for the team.

Vancouver's ability to sell out a Canada/Iran friendly is not an indicator for the World Cup. The cachet of the World Cup will attract people who aren't soccer fans and just want to be a part of "the thing", whatever it is, and Vancouver has lots of those who also happen to have tons of money to burn.

Iran is a great warmup match. But hopefully Canada can land a big European fish to prepare for Belgium/Croatia.

FYI for others like me that were looking for one... jerseys are back up on the official store (and I presume elsewhere now/soon too?)

$2,000 means a lot more to Sam than Alphonso, therefore Sam needs it more. Therefore the Flames will win this series.
