My biggest concern was humidity and electronics, but I don't think it's going to be an issue.

I doubt humidity will be much of an issue for a modern tv. Like I said, in an earlier post, I stayed under $300 or so for the TV I put on our screened in porch, and don't have any enclosure, but it is under the roof of the porch against the wall. Going on 4-5 years with current TV with no issues, and our summers in VA are plenty more humid I'd guess.
I'm jealous you don't have the bug issue we have further south. If I put a massive bug attracting light like that in the open air in VA in the evening, I'd be inviting all sort of medium to large insects to the party and probably be carried away by them!

Have had it up for a couple weeks now, and am very happy with it. Tried it today in full bright sun (on screen) for the first time, and it is pretty good. Definitely better with a home built sun shade. In everything but direct sun on screen it is fabulous.
Still not cheap with with the Storm Shell enclosure, but I'm not sure we'll ever spend an evening inside again, weather permitting.

Been said, but that looks fantastic.

Not really sure. Sealed unit when snapped shut, acts like vapor barrier? And tv generates enough heat that when enclosed, that heat drives away humidity, even though I shut power to tv when not in use.
I don't know

Initially I wanted to go this route - cheap as possible tv - but when it became clear in my mind it would be my new home for NFL Sundays, I wanted a TV with the brightness to be acceptable in daylight. I climbed the ladder for a while, adding a few hundred dollars every hundred nits of brightness, but came back to this as the best value overall.
We have virtually no bugs at night.

I picked up a 55Q650G today for $399. Originally paid $349 for a series 5 but they couldn't find the unit in the store.
Looking forward to setting it up tomorrow and getting all of the settings dialed in. Rtings says it sucks out of the box.

The lamp in my Benq projector just burnt out after the Lions game. Thinking I may go with a TV instead this time. Have had 3 projectors since I constructed the Man Cave 12 years ago. Looking for suggestions on a 75”/plus that you would recommend for Mainly sports and movie watching. There are no windows in the room so no concerns with natural light during the day. Wall mount with Shaw ignite/bluecurve cable system. Hooked up to AV system so sound/sound bar quality is not a concern. Looking to spend a max of $1200 probably.
Appreciate any insights and suggestions. Let me know if there is any other info needed. Always appreciate a deal and there are some on costco.ca currently. Super Bowl time seems to bring out the deals sometimes.
Thanks.

Hisense U7k might be the sweet spot for you.

Walmart is buying Vizio, maybe will be able to get Vizio in Canada again?

I worked in Home Theatre at Best Buy, granted it was a few years ago. Back then the staff only cared about Samsung and LG. I've only owned Samsung TVs for a long time, but I'll say the next TV I buy will be an LG OLED. Spectacular picture.

I've had a 65" Samsung S90C for about a month and I'm pretty happy with it.
I thought about going with an LG but the S90C was voted as the top TV for it's price point on pretty much every site I checked.

Pretty hard to beat the LG C3 in terms of value for $ at the OLED price point (which is still too $ for my cheap ass budget).

I am waffling about a 42 C3 for gaming versus some of these new oled monitors for 2024.

That new 32 inch 4K 240hz QD-OLED from Alienware sure looks nice.

I play on my C9 all the time now. I can’t go back to a non-OLED monitor.

240 Hz QD-OLED goes well with your (presumably) 4090 video card!
And IMO, a 42" is just too big for comfortable use in desktop applications, too much needing to move the head.

Both it and the S90C were the same price when I decided. The deciding factor for me was sites saying the S90C was better for gaming. And it can support 144hz when hooked up to a PC when I play games that are better with a controller.

Rtings is my Bible.
If they say it's better for gaming, it's better for gaming
There is usually a couple hundred USD price difference.
You obviously got a great deal

I could have got it a even cheaper from a store in Quebec but decided to buy it local in case something ever happened to it in the next year I could just take it to them instead of shipping it all the way back to Quebec.
The only thing that sucked is it took three weeks for them to get it delivered from Samsung but I ordered it right before Christmas.
