Bioware was supposed to have a big reveal on the Spike VGA's tomorrow. Looks like someone at EA spoiled the surprise, by accidently putting it up for order from the EA store.
Quote:
Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.
It better be Mass Effect 3 and not the FPS spin-off that has been rumored the last couple of weeks. Mass Effect 3 is likely my most wanted game right now but I couldn't care less for multi-player FPS spin-off. Go Bioware.
oh man that description is awesome. i was hoping that Bioware would make Earth a visitable planet in ME3 (along with the other race's homeworlds) but to actually stage the final battle there? Epic
i wish that leak had some kind of release date info, i don't think i've ever anticipated a game launch as much as ME3

It makes sense... humans already became a critical species in ME1, we were getting special treatment in ME2, and surely the Reapers have got to be taking Shepard into account by now.
WOO!! #### YES I CAN'T ####ING WAIT TO GET BACK TO PLAYING SOME ####ING MASS EFFECT!! #### YEA!!
I want to go back and beat Mass Effect 1 again with my level 60 doing all the proper decisions, then go through ME2 with all my proper decisions. Plus all the DLC again, Shadow Broker was awesome.
Would one need to play through Mass Effect 1 in order to enjoy or understand Mass Effect 2?
I played ME1 for a bit a couple years ago but never really got into it. Then recently i downloaded the ME2 demo and it seems really good. Wondering if I can just bypass playing the first without losing too much of the experience.

Play the first one, I'd say. The story is more substantial and you get introduced to the characters and the universe. I think you lose a lot if you skip it, but that depends on how much value you put on the story, the characters, and the world - and the chance to have your decisions affect the second and third MEs. It's not that long if you just play the main parts of it.
