Really nice to see Ruzicka starting to round out and assert himself physically, and have more confidence as a shooter.

And just a really solid game by Vladar.

Glad that the boys stuck with it.
I just want to say that I hate TJ Oshie; he's a diver, takes cheap shots, and always plays well against us.

Ruzicka continuing to prove he belongs, making an Impact, and showing they should give Phillips a look too.

Mangiapane finding his game which is huge.

Another game where Vladar looks good and 100x more confident than Markstrom. Back to back starts for him where a huge save leads the other way for a game sealing goal.

Huberdeau not good and Kadri looks off. Those two need to get going here for sure…not sure how much they are jiving with Sutter at this point.

4th line continues to provide nothing. 48% xGF on a night where the team is 64%.

I thought Backlund was awesome tonight. Good game by Vladar too.

Flames still can't get any goaltending, Mangiapane still utterly useless, and Backlund is nothing but an overrated 4th-liner. No talent on this team at all. Their only hope is to gut out a 2-1 win, and against a high-flying team like the Caps, you just can't do that (as the score proves).

On top of that, my wife was watching some damn fool thing on the living room TV, so I had to use the ancient TV in the basement and the remote was dead. While fiddling around with the buttons on the side of the set, trying to adjust the volume, I managed to change to channel 3.0, and there was no way to get the Shaw box back, so the rest of the game was just snow. Of course it's the only remote left in the world that takes AAA batteries, and I have a drawer filled with AA's and 9-volts, but was there a AAA in sight? You just know the answer to that one. And all the stores were closed by then, except Circle K which wants like $5,000 for batteries if there are even any in stock. And there wasn't even enough time left on the clock to make the trip.

Damn the remote, damn the AAA batteries, damn Circle K, and above all, damn this worthless hockey team that can't ever win a single damn game.

Backlund was the best player tonight... Mangiapane had 2

Vladar was good, it's not like he stole it though

Kadri just won a cup. He will be fine and is basically Darryl Sutter in player form.

Were clearly better than the Caps, even with an average Flames performance.
Kadri came on in the third.
Lindholm pretty quiet offensively, decent defensive.

Nor a 6th

Highly agree, ruzicka is proof Phillips should get a legit chance at least.

The Flames scored four goals without the EN goal. The team gave him run support tonight. He was good and certainly made the big saves when we needed him but that’s what you need from an NHL goalie.

Solid effort by the Flames and a well deserved 2 points.

Backlund was awesome.

Vladar making some big timely saves.

Bread finally breaks out of his funk.

Now please build on this and string a few Ws together.

It’s Vladar’s net right now. Ruzicka showing what possible potential there is on the farm squad that’s just waiting for the opportunity

Key saves at the right time. Made a killer stop right before flames made it 4-1. Changed the game.

Yeah that take was odd to say the least

Flames didn't even give up all that much...did Ovechkin have a shot?

The team actually played Sutter hockey tonight. They went to the tough areas and crashed the net to create chances.
