Dube has 7 points in his last 10.
Huby has 8 points in his last 10, 5 in his last 5.
Kadri has 5 points in his last 10, which includes a 7-game pointless streak.

All this talk about the ones that got away but the Flames got Zadorov and Vladar at 26 and 24 for next to nothing
Massive wins, both guys are great

Of course they are. Despite the slander they get, they are still nhlrs and can carry play in spurts during the course of a 60 minute game. The Flames aren't a power house and are going to be under seige at times.
Most important thing I took from today's game was Vladar continued his strong play, our 2nd line got going and our pp looked good. Build off this.
Give Vladar the net for awhile. Super impressed.

no problem giving Vladar the net for a while. Almost every goalie goes through rough patches in their careers, Markstrom isn't the first to have that happen to him. That's why it's nice to have a capable backup. It also relieves pressure from him and will help him find his game. I think it will drive him to be better when he gets his chance again. And if Vladar continues to improve, and we're left with two starters, then that's a problem we should be happy to have.

But ultimately GMs are human and Brad and the Flames have tens of millions tied up in markstrom and they want him starting.
If I were to guess their strategy, they'll play markstrom as a backup for now, but if he plays well in a back up start they will give him the next start and if all is good he'll gets shifted back to starter.
Make no mistake their goal is to have their high priced starter starting
|
Or Vlader keeps playing lights out and he is the Starter now ? Solves both problems . I don't think gms really put that much on what players make. Treliving saved his job this summer with a trade. Now he needs the team to win. If his goal is to get Sutter to play markstrom because of pay he will find himself with pink slips. If Vlader can continue this level of play he is the future in net at 23 .

Nah, these Flames have always followed the pattern of:
Select a starter.
Select a backup.
Backup has a month of excellent hockey, and as soon as he has a bad game it's evidence that the player cannot handle a starter workload.
Starter has a month of awful hockey and as soon as he has a good game it's evidence that he has found his game and now needs to play the next fifteen games straight while the goalie who led the team loses his confidence being benched or played against teams like Tampa/Colorado while the starter gets the teams selling their entire roster off on a tank in order to get ready for the playoffs.
We saw it with Elliott vs Johnson. (it wasn't Elliott who kept us afloat most of the year, prior to the ten game win streak where he was still no better than Johnson)
We saw it with Smith vs Rittich ( it wasn't Smith who carried us to top of the West)
And I don't see any evidence we're not seeing it with Markstrom vs Vladar

I'm 6-0 wearing my blasty jersey to the dome. Unfortunately don't have tickets to another game until January... If anyone feels there's a must win game coming up, hook me up

Nice to see Kadri breakout offensively and Huberdeau grab a couple of points. Vladar having a nice run.
I am really hoping for a 8-1-1 run here before Christmas to have the team comfortable in a playoff spot by that time

Are you saying Johnson and Rittich are NHL starters that the Flames held back despite their obviously superior abilities?
I don't see any evidence that you are correct.
