Edmonton Oilers = “no good”

No technology can save the oilers.

Not google translate.

Fine a tweener is pretty much on the same level as the franchises highest ever draft pick right now.

People jump all over Hathaway and scoff at Bennett having to belittle himself to play with such a plug. Take away the names and pedigree and they have almost been the same player over the last year or so. Sam with a little more opportunity and a few more points. (more dumb penalties too)

Make no mistake, Bennett with a different name on his back would have been in the AHL last season. Guy went how long without a point?

Any actual reports of what Tkachuk did to himself or what happened?

I gotta say it is rather a bore to open most every thread and see the only "new" posts are debating Bennett's uselessness.

Can we not enjoy the fact we have a deep forward group and look poised for success? This amount of depth will push all the guys to be better because there is actual players with talent that can legitimately steal another's icetime..

Bennett is young, and I know that argument is old hat but, please can we just give him at least this season before we continue to derail ever thread by debating his failures as the highest pick in franchise history?

Obviously we are all free to respectfully discuss what we want but man can it not be the same topic in every thread?

Sorry to vent but its getting hard to ignore and I love this site.

Isn't it obvious? He's this year's Jankowski on CP.

Just go to a Bennett-titled thread to talk about something else.

That should be the title of the newest E=NG, with the first post a video with an elderly chinese woman doing a thumbs down saying this with a translator dubbed over.

Well we could stick to blaming fourth liners or 13th forwards for the Flames failures or realize to take the next step the guys with high end potential will have to hit their ceilings

To be honest Scorpion, its not about him being a big name. Troy Brouwer was a more known name and he should have never been on the PP. Derek Ryan has great possession numbers and as FDW stated is a RH shot. He actually has a sneaky quick release.

The reason for my apprehension for Ryan being on the PP is that he is not a top line forward, there is no body of work to show that in the NHL. At his age, its not like he is going to become one. On international ice(Sweden) he did very well cause of the time and space in the SEL. However in the smaller rink NHL, he isnt as effective. If he proves it and the second unit shows success, Ill eat crow and be happy. I just dont want it handed to him due to Peters familiarity.

I guess the premise of my insight is how the many Canes fans were so frustrated with Peters utilization of Ryan. I am not saying he isnt a good or a worthy pickup.

^ Appreciate the response. I'll be excited to see what he can do in any case, if they put him out there. I think he has the capability to fulfill a similar role to what Versteeg used to, with more speed in his game as well.

Andersson and Prout for Stoner and Kulak. Intriguing to see them play.

im fine with Tkachuk sitting. Its a pre season game. no need to ruin him for nothing.

So that means Klimchuk, Peluso and Lazar make up line 4. I wonder who double shifts. My guess is future traveler to the Sun Sam "You hate me! You really really hate me!" Bennett.

To be fair, that was down the stretch where a severed arm is a day to day upper body injury.

"Oil Industry" is the literal translation, so Google is pretty accurate.
