I went there tonight and it's really really good. I think the Camoflauger beer was my fav cause I'm a wus. I couldn't handle the stout or the ipa. Food was great too...served on mess trays. And the bar has this wicked cool strip down the middle of frost where you set your glass to keep it cold. I don't understand it but it's really neat.

They make pretty good cider as well. Im usually not into that stuff but their dry hopped one is pretty good, not too sweet.

Bidders are complaining that the Feds have changed the bidding process for the Surface Combatant construction program to favor Lockheed Martin, BAE and Irving shipyards

Official policy on marijuana use once it becomes legal. Seems logical and a no brainer.

I wonder how this mirrors alcohol policy?

This suspect this will change an adapt over time.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a NORAD radar station on Tongue Creek road between Longview and High River. On the side of the road there are these four weird egg structures that look exactly like these NORAD radars....

Asking cause they might also be alien pods readying their hatch. Would like to know for sure one way or the other.

Is it the Rothney Observatory? That's a bit farther north though.

No this is on the road heading east between Longview and Black Diamond. I think it's 543 east. It's pretty close to the road and fenced off. It looks really bizarre and exactly like those radars in the picture except there are four of them. I'll take a pic next time I go by.

Confused, Black Diamond is almost directly north of Longview? How are you heading east? 543 runs east/west between Longview and High River. I always thought they were a Nav Aid for aviation.

Is there a list of declassified cold war/military structures in Alberta? I've seen a few of the "we're all going to die!" nuclear bunkers, but I wonder how many of these things have been repurposed or are lying dormant around the province.

Yeah I didn't explain that well. It's kind of close to this pin...

Ariel view is way creepier, if that helps.

Not really most have been sold, or repurposed. There was the underground governmental shelter under Olds College, that had a ton of food and bedding and communications gear.

Penhold, but I think that was sold off years ago.

There are some mystery spots in Calgary as well.

Well here's a surprise. Given budget cuts, reductions in flying hours, and now pushing the F18 replacements out so far they are not even on the horizon it's no wonder we're bleeding pilots. Commercial aviation can't seem to hire enough so it's little wonder this is happening. It's sad really. And all the recent federal governments can share responsibility for this one with their neglect of the military.
