Can you stream Apple Music on Amazon Echo and/or Google Home?

Googling this seems to produce that Amazon and Apple recently have a deal to let you just stream your Apple Music subscription on their devices, I can't find the same news for Google though.

I want to buy a device for my parents, they use Apple Music, just want to figure out which is the better pick to get them.

You can now cast Apple Music from the Android app to a Google Home device. You still can't on iOS.

Ok thanks good to know, that will dictate that I get them an Echo.

I have Alexa connected to a receiver in the basement.

If I ask Alexa to play x song on Apple Music in y room, I get told that Apple Music isn’t supported on that device. (I have downloaded the skill and connected my account). If I ask for x song in y room, it is random if it is from amazon or Apple but does play in the correct location and it is the correct song. It did work exactly as I described for a week or so before this odd behaviour showed up. I’ll perhaps re download everything to see if that fixes it.

To answer the OP, yes Apple Music is supported by Alexa.

Set your default music provider to Apple in the Alexa app. It will always play from that provider, you don’t have to say “on Apple Music” either.
