I was told that the Flames effort Saturday night in a 3 goal loss would be good enough to win most nights. Same effort tonight resulted in a loss to the lowly Ducks. I’m sure if they keep playing hard and getting out scored things will come around eventually.

Gibson won it for the Ducks.
Unlike Edmonton where most of the shots were low(er) quality, I'd say they tested Gibson pretty well, but hell of a performance from him.
What can you even do but throw your arms up?
Finish is everything I guess... Also timely saves.

You're also not going to win when your 40+ shots account for 2 goals a game

Markstrom is not the answer to the Flames inability to generate offense.
As such, we've seen this story plenty of times before. A lot more losses than wins is what's lined up this season. Tis the same offensive core after all, so why expect different?

The Flames used to be elite at 3 on 3 OT. Now we struggle to generate anything.
Very frustrating, but it shouldn't have been even close to OT to begin with.
