Probably because I came early, but a painless process with the ID and paper vaccine card. They have a bunch of fenced off areas and checking before you come up the stairs. Took under 10 seconds if people were ready. Winter time may be interesting. Also man is it weird being on the grounds and that concrete walk way is gone.

FFS. Went thru this with the Stamps over the weekend. I'd assume that anything that was uploaded is on there servers and best bet for those of us that have done it is simply delete and uninstall the app?

What a clusterfata. According to the CBC article it sounds like some fans were SOL at the door tonight because the app was unavailable and they didn’t have alternate proof of vaccination. The developer deleting his Twitter account and shutting the app down doesn’t bode well for him or CSEC.

What does alternate proof of vaccination even mean? either you have it or you don't, an app doesn't steal your vaccination records.
If they showed up without proof they likely didn't have it in the first place.

It just means that they people didn't have their paper copy for proof as a backup because they assumed that the app would function as it should to get them into the stadium. There is nothing sinester in the comment or messaging. No need to get triggered.

Ahh I see, I assumed you would have the info as soon as you signed up and loaded the app, kind of a stupid app that doesn't hold your record in your phone, seems to me taking a pic of you paper copy and have your photo ID would be a better option, works in airports without a hitch.

So with any free service such as this, you need to think about the funding model. Assuming that isn’t “sell your personal info to overseas identity thieves and ransomware gangs”, the only other source is partnerships with organizations like CSEC. This means that your Calgary Flames dollars were just spent on helping confirm that yes, Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo is indeed double vaccinated.

Good on this Conrad Yeung guy for exposing this shady app and exposing CSEC for their lazy due diligence. It's horrifying how long it took for someone to notice and spread the word.
Lots of lessons to be learnt here. Namely, don't trust random apps just because someone tells you to.

Considering they were using their phones to get into the game it does seem odd that they wouldn’t be able to just bring up their vaccine card from the gov website.

Unless they didn't have their health care number, they should have been able to launch the site to bring theirs up again.
One of the first things I did when I downloaded the pdf to print the card size, was email to myself as a back up in case I lost the paper copy.
