It'll be a cold day in Kananaskis before I buy my warm clothes from the French!

Somewhat in the spirit of this thread. Lilydale will be moving out of Ramsay to an industrial park in Jan.

I work right across from there (at least when we get back to the office). There is no worse smell that what comes spewing out of that place from time to time.

I never checked out any gear, but the clothes we bought t-shirts, socks, sweaters, swim shorts have lasted well over 4 years.

YAY!

Years ago I worked a block from Peppino's in Kensington. Excellent little place and great sandwiches.

I wonder what's up with the Peppinos in the +15 just south of the Shell building. They have been closed but still stocked for the last year of covid.

Dont know if it was mentioned but it appears as though Tubby Dawg is leaving 17th.

It's odd to me as the sandwich board is still set up outside the store in the hallway and the equipment and fridges are still full of drinks. There's no sign on the clear shutters. It looks like it is ready to open at a moments notice.

Aw jeez, where am I going to go now to get treated like dirt by indifferent staff making overpriced hot dogs?

1. Go to 7-11
2. Buy a Big Bite Hot Dog
2. Go to the cereal section and buy Captain Crunch
3. Combine

Yeah but the staff at 7-11 are friendly. You’d have to go to Macs to get that kind of treatment.

All the Macs stores converted to Circle K years ago. You must be thinking of Wink’s.

Northland Village Mall - Closed for Redevelopment

https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/northland...ntre-1.5666870

I'm a little sad I missed the last few days of this, I had no idea the inner mall was closing. Spent most of my childhood there going to elementary, junior high, and highschool across the street.

What an awful place to live. In the parking lot of a Walmart, along a busy road and across the street from a junior high and a high school.

I know Northland is a dump, but this seems worse. The central area is totally hostile to pedestrians, which is ironic considering it used to be an indoor pedestrian area.

Awfully convenient you mean!

You're telling me I could walk to Walmart, McDonalds, Winners, Goodlife, and Bestbuy without even crossing a major street?

Favorite childhood memories: Woolco summer tent sale in the parking lot, Toys & Wheels, & Wizards Castle
