The Flames are benefiting from this hotly contested goaltending battle we're witnessing. Both guys have been absolutely incredible.

I think a coaching hire or trading for help up front soon would do the team in front of them a lot of good. I'll give it to the guys for giving good effort over 200 feet tonight, but offensively they need to show some more life and soon. Lots of monkeys on backs right now.

That said, I don't care how the wins come at this point in the season. GFG!

Agreed. Just having fun as Rittich looked so damn good!

My god! All star, Rittich was BEAST MODE tonight! That Ron Jeremy looking mofo still hasn’t scored on us!

Great win. That said, this team should be scoring more goals. Ward needs to make some adjustments.

All star goal-tending right there. Flames need to give him some run support once and awhile. Talbots had a few games where he has stood on his head and the goals werent there to.

For anyone who as a TheAthletic subscription, this was an excellent article posted from Darren Haynes about why the goaltending is much more to thank for our success under Ward than Ward himself.

https://theathletic.com/1532591/2020...mes-right-now/

If the Flames have a chance to get Gallant (or Laviolette), they should not waste a second and jump at the opportunity.

It's incredible how impactful goalies have on the image of their coach. A team could be playing great 5v5 and playing great defense but getting awful goaltending (like Vegas) or they could be playing poor 5v5 and playing poor defense but getting excellent goaltending (like Calgary under Ward).

Big Save Dave put on a show these last 2 games.

"All-Star" and "David Rittich" sound really good together

Spoiler!

WOW! Was that Rittich's best game of this NHL career? I think so! That was beyond Big Save Dave. That was straight up Big Dick Rittich. What a performance, what a win!!

That should put to rest anyone who doubted his all-star selection. Straight up pwnd the center of the hockey universe with that performance .

Awesome game - they poured it on in the 3rd and had some lucky power plays - but BSD saved the day

I've been critical of Rittich for his performance before Talbot's win streak, but that was the best goaltending performance I've seen since Kipper was a Flame. I just hope Ward splits the workload more evenly now that he has 2 goaltenders playing well, Rittich is at his best when he's not overworked

Janko said to BSD "that was fricking awesome!" Amazing performance by the masked man. Loved the boos for Chucky. Then he went down and scored before Andersen knew he took the shot.
