This is great! I missed sitting outside and watching football so much last summer.

Argos at Stamps, week 1. Basically Calgary versus Calgary East (Arbuckle, Brescacin, Rogers, Hughes, Daniels, Law, Richardson, Dinwiddie).
Inject it straight into my veins please...

Three games each against the Riders and Lions, two games each against the Elks and Bombers.
/Two of the three games against the Riders are home games which should boost both attendance and beer sales.

3 games in 34 days....followed by 5 games in 27 days, which is just insane, followed by 2 games in 22 days.
They have to do better than that at the league office.

Is it really that bad? They have a couple of bye weeks in there, and the stretch from October 2 to 27 has a game every week for five weeks, with only one "short-ish" week (only by a day). Pretty standard I believe?

5 games in 27 days is a huge ask of any football player. Yeah they get rest before and after, but i would expect a lot of attrition those couple weeks before the late break.
If the club hosts the West final, they will have played 2 games in the 36 days leading up to it as well.
I mean its great they are back, that part was imperative for any chance at long term survival, but the league has to be concerned with player health coming off not playing for 2 years.
Maybe its similar for other teams, i havent looked, it just seems so off-balance looking at the Stamps sked.

5 in 27 is a lot, but I don't think you can just ignore the rest days before and after; it would be like saying they only play 3 games in 25 days during that span. Technically true, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
More importantly, I don't think it's unusual to play five straight weeks of football -- I'm pretty sure it happens every year in an 18 game season. NCAA and NFL as well. For example, in 2019, the Stamps had a week two bye followed by 8 straight weeks of games. That included the first 5 in a 27 day span from week 3 to week 7. So i don't think its any more condensed (or otherwise unbalanced) this year than it normally is.

It's the short weeks that are killer in football and I don't see too many short weeks outside of the first two games where there's 4 days between games.

Richard Sherman had a good article on the Players Tribune a few years back about playing on short weeks, i.e. Thursdays: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/ar...night-football
Yeah, that Saturday to Thursday is a quick turnaround, as is the typical back to back on Labour Day (it wasn't that long ago that they used to play on Monday and then again on Friday in Edmonton; I believe they moved the second game to Saturday a few years back due to player safety).
