I’ve gotten a few of inquires Alexis Lafreniere in the last week.
Honestly I am not seriously entertaining the idea of moving him. It would take an offer that really caught my attention. More than likely he starts his CPHL career as a Hab.
However for transparency if he happens to get moved I wanted to place him on the block. Only if the right package of a high end D and top pick(s)/prospect(s) was presented would I consider it.

Apparently there was an issue with a couple of my previous trades where the cap wasn't sent through for some reason so all of a sudden I'm $5M over the cap.
Anyone wanna give me $5M this year for $7.5M next year?
Or willing to do a bunch of $1M for $1.5M

The trade was sent as a condition and not with the money exchanging hands. So sadly both GMs thought they had the money.
I''ll be honest I've wondered if the league should offer to provide the $5M to Colorado for this year but take out the $5M next year. I don't know if people would think if that's out of line though. It's crappy because it's simply a problem created by two relatively new GMs who made an honest mistake with how to send money in a deal.

I say just give him the money and move on, and just ensure everyone makes sure they’re on top of their money situation when sending in the future. We all made mistakes as rookie GMs and an honest mistake like this should just be a learning lesson rather than a penalty

Why not just reverse the trade? Wouldn't that be simpler?
I'm mostly fine either way.

If the league is fine with it, that would be great, but I also understand if many GMs don't like that idea, so I'm willing to go with either decision.
I'd also be willing to forfeit more money next season too for the $5M this year if that's something other GMs would be more okay with (rather than a flat $5M for $5M swap)
