I thought i got an ear infection last year after swimming. Left it for months as it was COVID and i didnt want to bother going to the doctor. Turns out it was just ear wax. Apparently it's quite common

A lot of people don't know how to properly clean their ears with Q-tips and end up packing ear wax into the ear canal. I was one of those people and I still remember the first time I got my ears cleaned how massive one of the chunks was. Pretty nasty.

It would depend if you have wet or dry earwax. While I'm aware that I shouldn't be putting anything into my ears I'm guilty of using ear picks on a weekly basis. Picking your ears is an unparalleled sensation.

The older you get the more wax you produce- something to look forward to.

I learned that there is a little arrow on the gas gauge, gas pump icon in cars showing which side the gas cap is on.

If you’re in a vehicle without the arrow, the drawing of the gas pump typically represents how you should pull up to it. (Example: pump handle shown on the right side of the symbol, it’s on your driver side).

Vehicles with the filler on the drivers side are superior. Fact.

Don't use Q-Tips. Don't stick anything up your ear canal.

Quote:
It's important to realize nothing should be placed inside the ear to remove dirt and debris. This is dangerous and could cause hearing loss or a damaged ear canal or eardrum.
The ear canal has specialized cells that produce cerumen, commonly known as ear wax. Ear wax accumulates much faster for some people than others. This can lead to wax build-up that causes decreased ability to hear and in some instances, pain. As an easy way to avoid seeing a medical professional, many folks resort to using swabs to remove the excess wax, causing more harm than good.
In most cases, the ear canal does not need to be cleaned. During hair washing or showers, enough water enters the ear canal to loosen the wax that has accumulated. Additionally, the skin in your ear canal naturally grows in an outward, spiral pattern. As it sloughs off, ear wax goes with it. Most of the time the wax will loosen and fall out on its own while you are asleep. The need for a cotton swab isn’t necessary.

The Golden Gate Bridge is still screeching, but a fix may be on the way
https://www.sfgate.com/local/article...P-CP-Spotlight
Quote:
The cause of the noise was reportedly a retrofit of the sidewalk safety railing on the western side, where the wind sweeps in from the Pacific. Twelve thousand slats were replaced with narrower ones to give the bridge a slimmer profile and make it safer in high winds, according to the Golden Gate Bridge District.
But after receiving dozens of complaints, the Golden Gate Bridge District announced in July it would be studying the noise in the hope of finding a way to muffle it. Engineers in Canada are now hard at work figuring out how to silence the racket, reports the San Francisco Chronicle, though there are still few details on when or how the fix may happen.

I learned this this week I’ve been cooking pasta the wrong way for 20 years.
You want to pasta water to be salty as seawater, and when you drain it, don’t throw away the water. Use a half cup or so and add that to the sauce.
Also, the pasta goes into the sauce pan - the sauce doesn’t go into the pasta pot.
Oh, and make your own sauces. It takes almost no extra time and it’s better.

You can also just make everything in the same pan. Use less water, and you reduce it down to your half cup. Have a kettle boiled so you can add some water if the past isn't done. This works great for something like sun-dried tomatoes, you can add them with the pasta and they soften up nicely. I'm not sure if an Italian wants to kill me after reading this, but I don't care, it's delicious, and only dirties one pan.

I don’t want to know what other purpose that could serve. There are only so many orifices.
