I've always wanted to try Fritou on Canyon Meadows, just haven't had the chance yet.
Not fried, but the best marinated grilled chicken is Nando's, on 32nd Ave and 34th St NE, just north of Sunridge. Unbelievably tasty.

Try Fritou Chicken in Canyon Meadows. They make F-in awesome fried chicken, always made fresh to order. It's pretty decently priced as well. You can get 4 pieces of chicken and more fries than one guy can eat, with salad for $9.99

Chicken on the Way was the best for decades but they switched to no transfat oil and now everything there sucks from the Chicken to the Corn Fritters.

Chicken on the Way used to be better, I'll agree, but it's still pretty good. Could use a bit more spice in the skin, but otherwise decent. I'll usually go there if I've been out playing poker past midnight, I've won, and I'm hungry - like twice a year or so. If you go there late at night on a weekend, you usually get the added bonus of seeing some interesting characters.
I do like KFC every now and then, and the guy who delivers it downtown is awesome. I've had him show up in under 15 minutes and never has it taken him more than 20. He is the delivery driver all others should aspire to be, and I always tip him $3-5 in consequence.

$2 if he gets there in 30-50 minutes, otherwise nothing. Most places charge a delivery fee already, so why would I pay some guy an extra $5 to do a half-assed job?

I don't get the hype over Chicken on the Way. I've got a buddy that lives in Bridlewood that treks all the way there, just for his fix. I don't taste anything spectacular, and I can live without the long line up. Sorta reminiscent of my dad and my uncle who *must* stop at Peter's Drive In every time they're near it. It's just a burger. Nothing to write home about. Maybe it's nostalgic for them because they grew up in Sunnyside and probably did their teenage macking up at the 'ol drive-in.

Well that's pretty low IMO. A delivery dude does about 100x the work that a bartender does and most people tip those guys on every drink. I'm pretty sure tips are the only thing that make that job worth getting out of bed over.

I think way back we had a tipping thread, and I was on the higher end of the tipping scale. What do you tip? $10? For $10 I'll drive there myself, I'm lazy, but not that lazy.
Realistically, as soon as the delivery guy is a delivery babe, then I'll go past $5. It's a sad, sexist world we live in, but there it is - the KFC guy is a middle-aged black dude who sometimes forgets to shower, so he gets $5. If instead it was delivered by a young black hottie who caused *me* to have to go take a cold shower, she'd get $10-$15 and I'd be 300 pounds from ordering KFC all the time.

$5 is pretty much my flat fee. I just had the impression from your post that this guy was the delivery guy ever and you ere giving him $3-$5. Made me wonder what an average guy would get.

Would you people stop talking about the basement? It's supposed to be a secret.

Chicken on the way is juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Very tasty.
