I'm very late to the party, but I just bought a Switch and it rules.
Same here. Bought mine a couple of weeks ago. First Nintendo I've owned since the N64. BOTW is amazing and I can't get over how much fun I'm having playing Mario Odyssey.
Switch is Easily the best system of the PS4, Xbox One, Switch generation IMO,
This is only true if you like the games Nintendo makes, and if you are ok with average to Ok graphics(cartoony) for brand new titles.
The only games I have played that justified buying the switch for me personally is BOTW and Mario Odyssey. Hades is fun on the Switch but plays better on the PC with an Xbox controller.
There were much better games to play on both PS4 and Xbox for my personal taste.
Best system for families with children yes. Best console in this generation overall? no.
Just bought a couple switch lites for the kids for xmas.
Anyone have any recommendations for kids aged 4 and 6? I've heard Mario Kart 8 deluxe has a assisted mode which seems like a good idea...

They'd probably also like Luigi's Mansion and Mario Party.
Mario Kart for sure. Luigi's Mansion is fun and has a good story. My son preferred to watch me play that one though instead of playing himself (was 7-8 while we were playing that). Not hard for a kid to do themselves though. Him and my wife both enjoy watching video games.
One caution about Mario Party, although fun, relies on detached joycons and benefits from a big screen. So not do-able with the Switch Lite. I guess technically you could use separate detached joycons and play it on the Switch Lite screen (I think), but that would be weird.

It's 30 on amazon right now but that site will help you track digital sales as well if you want.
EDIT: From this history chart, you can see it drops to $20 quite often. Just gotta wait a little - I'd assume a lot of sales coming down the week of Black Friday.

Well that’s a helpful site. Unfortunately i’m looking for a digital copy but i’ll keep an eye on this site. Thanks!

I would also recommend that you put games on your wish list. They recently added a feature on the eshop that tells you how long a sale goes on for a particular title. Thursdays are the days to check, I think the new round of sales generally activates then but don't hold me to that. I just scroll through my wish list Thursday after work and see if anything hits my cheapo mental threshold.
And one last thing, you might want to consider buying eshop cards from Costco for additional savings above and beyond what you see.
Was Link’s Awakening any good? I understood it was a bit of a let down from previous Zelda incarnations.
I don’t know why I am addicted to ACNH. It’s so dumb and materialistic, yet, here there I am playing it, turning clams into fishing bait to try and get a golden trout.
