Maybe they had a feeling Fox wasn't going to sign or something.

Always thought Dougie Hamilton is very over-valued on CP. This confirms it.

I don’t hate it but it is a massive risky blockbuster.

Something off with Dougie. Sold high on Ferland, Fox probably indicated he wasn’t going to sign.

We got a 23 year old right shot C/W and a 21 year old top 4 D with plenty of upside.

Huge risk on the deal but I like it

Just spitballing here,.....but there is a lot of salary room created here depending on what the new guys sign for as RFA's...maybe something to allow BT to go big game hunting July 1...James Neal perhaps?

I'm guessing Fox told Flames management he was planning on Finishing school and possibly going to free agency after.

I mean I like Hanifin and Lindholm.

But what the hell man? Why are we giving up Fox in this deal?

Why???

WHY????

We give up the best player in the deal and the most players in the deal

Absolutely awful.

Edit: After hearing the news about Fox and Dougie i'm starting to warm up to this deal. He wanted out and Fox wasn't going to sign.

Wow cant believe people are mad at this trade. Hanafin is pretty close to Hamilton and Lindholm is the young RW we desperatly need. Good job selling high on Ferland. Idk why people get attached to these meh prospects like fox and 3rd liners like Ferland. No one else in the league is gonna give u what u expect for those.
Awesome Trade by Brad our team looks great now.

I'm not as upset as most.

The Flames moved one core player with many whispers surrounding him for two core players. That's an overall upgrade in many ways. Ferland was a UFA after next season as well.

Fox I hate, but I guess this says signing issue.

Like you I'm not a big Ferland fan but he scores goals at a better clip than Lindholm and he's essentially a throw in with Fox and Hamilton going the other way. You can understand that Carolina fans may be giddy over this trade.

As one of the posters said this seems like a locker room shakeup not a hockey deal. Treliving must of made the decision after the exit interviews of who needs to go.

I guess Hamilton and Ferland were the guys in the dressing room who didn't have the compete level the Flames and BT were expecting. Not that surprising.

I would have been ok with this, had Fox not been a throw in.
I am not impressed with this trade
