Well that’s kind of how I feel. I wouldn’t watch knowing this.

My biggest complaint with Netflix. You get into a show only for them to cancel and never complete the story.

The OA being the original offender of this.

The ones I watched that ended on cliffhangers were:

I'm Not OK With This
Altered Carbon
GLOW
Away
Jupiter's Legacy

At least with Sense8 they gave us a movie to wrap it up.

You wonder why people hold off watching shows until they know if they'll see the end.

That's my biggest gripe with episodic TV shows in general. They rarely have a plan or overall vision, it's season to season not knowing it they'll be picked up and hiring different writers as they go. The feel and vibe changes, writers scramble to tie stuff together and the product suffers, not to mention the manipulative cliffhangers used for the sole purpose to hook people in.

Of course not all shows, but a large majority.

GLOW was a complete headscratcher. That show was immensely popular with a solid cast.

Damn, I forgot about Altered Carbon. Season 1 was absolutely awesome and then season 2 fell flat on its face.

That was a show with some amazing potential.

Totally. They only had 1 more season to finish the series as well.

The OA wasn't like a great show or anything but it was creative and ended on one of the biggest "holy ####" cliffhangers in TV I think I've ever seen.

man...super disappointed in Netflix cancelling 1899... it seemed like it was doing good as it did seem to stay on the trending or top 10 in Canada lists for a decent amount of time.

The thing that bugs me is that Friese and BbO were known quantities to Netflix; presumably Dark did well enough to green light 1899 in the first place.

maybe we'll get lucky and it'll be picked up by someone

Mindhunter is their most egregious cancellation.

I thought Mindhunter was a case of Fincher and/or the actors not being able to schedule something along those lines and not a typical cancellation?

Mindhunter was a brilliant show though. One of the very best for sure

Fincher made an announcement that sounded like it was due to his unavailability but if Netflix had any respect for its content, or its viewers, they'd work something out. I'm still hopeful that it'll get finished somehow.

I'm not sure I'd characterize it as a cliffhanger though, I think it ended in the same place as the books did.

Anyone watch the movie "Emily the Criminal" with Aubrey Plaza? Worth a watch?

He released the actors from their commitments at the time. He was making Mank and stuff around that time (which I thought was pretentious garbage). I don't know how you think you have better movies to make when the obvious one you started is right there to finish, AND it has a cult following. Anyway, it has always been a poor decision that they let Mindhunter go. Doesn't sound like there's any thought of finishing it.

Thirded. Was definitely a movie that gets the anxiety up, similar to Uncut Gems (but not as high intensity). Worth the watch.
