Mark McMorris with his THIRD consecutive Olympic Bronze in Men's Snowboard Slopestyle.

Surely to be disappointed since he's won every medal you could ever imagine except Olympic Gold, but TALK ABOUT CONSISTENCY.

But he'll have another shot at Gold in Men's Snowboard Big Air!

Max Parrot improves on his Silver from 2018!

I gotta say that feels fantastic but that curling loss still stings.

Maybe because curling goes on over several days so you're a little more invested. Plus you know the athletes a little better (or atleast I do).

Agreed. The big thing here too is that Canada was expected to medal twice in Men's Snowboard Slopestyle, but many experts had them winning Silver & Bronze, with Gold going to Gerard, so on that hand it's an amazing result!

On the other hand, Canada has failed to medal in multiple events that they were heavily projected to medal in, as well as lost a Bronze due to a penalty, as well as Kingsbury getting massively upset in Men's Moguls and having to settle for Silver.

Overall, Canada is still performing quite below expectations early on in the Olympics, but hopefully this builds some great momentum!

I was watching downhill and missed the start of the hockey game. Did the organizers make both teams wear masks in order to play the game because of that Covid testing issue?

That is pretty crazy.

Same. Really invested on curling but normally not a Homan fan. So there will be some controversy now with the selection. Homan's never won anything in mixed and not ranked high.

Should have been #3 ranked Martin and Griffith. Top two teams already had 3/4 players going in team play.

Canada asked that Russian would, since they didn’t have their COVID results. Russians said sure, as long as you do too.

Hard to be mad about Kingsbury's result. The Swede was just faster.

Agreed or Sahaidak/Lott who were runners-up in the Calgary bubble.

Yea, the one thing I hate about Canada's rules is you can only participate in one of the Curling events, whereas other countries have one or both of their mixed doubles players participating in both the Mixed Doubles and the Men's/Women's teams.

So dumb. Send your best players. Period.

Can't be upset about the run, but it was definitely a major upset, as that was Wallberg's first ever win on the Senior Circuit. He had never won a World Cup event.

Most definitely came outta nowhere and was a major shock dethroning the second best Canadian athlete of all time.

Was basically a shoe-in Gold by all projections, with Horishima being the only projected challenger for Gold

Nevermind masks, Canada could play blindfolded and beat the Russians. Women’s Olympic hockey is horrible but for game.

I'm not really a Homan fan either. Of course if they sweep that last rock correctly all would have been forgiven.

I don't know if the Canadian teams are doing mixed correctly. The Canadians are great curlers but they sure seem to get caught up in strategy, line and weight calls. And these other teams just go and play their game and make their shots.

I still can't believe in that 8th end the Italian male makes an incredible draw behind a guard in the rings. Homan then needs to make a shot that only needs to be half as good and she flubs it horribly. And he was a guy throwing takeouts all game and not much of a finesse player.

Is it just bad luck? I kind of don't think so. Canada should do better than 5-4 in an international field like that.

Oh well. I'm confident in Gushue and Jones.

As far as curling, theres alot of ego involved in this country, especially at the Brier and Scotties level when it comes to the top teams and team dynamics.

So, putting two Alpha's on a team (Morris is for sure, looks like Homan is as well) doesn't necessarily translate, especially considering that 2 are doing the work and thinking of 4, inna shorter amount of time, and there is no buffer.

Game watched last night Morris and Homan were butting heads a lot on calls. Don't see that anywhere near that tension in "regular" curling.

My guess is the Italians and many of these these teams would have trouble adjusting to a 4 player team format.

For slopestyle, Craig McMorris seemed to bite his tounge on the scoring for his brother on the second run, and IMO, that should've been gold silver Canada.

Édouard Therriault is one of my favorite Canadian athletes at these games.

Kid is just full of personality
