So much negativity in here, but that was not a bad road game by the Flames. The top line needs to provide more offense consistently but that’s the same tune we’ve heard for a couple seasons already. The effort was there, the skill isn’t.

Missed the game, but reading the comments of this thread, it's probably good I did.

Same story we've seen year after year. There's just something wrong with the consistency of this group, our top players have way too many off nights and when they're off its really bad for w/e reason.
Lindholm, Tkachuk, Monahan, Eatbread invisible last 2 games specifically.
Only shining light was Vladar and Kylington... again.
|
Leave mangi out. He has a goal and assist last two games. He's fine. Lindy and Tkachuk take too many days off. Johnny has been otherworldly or invisible too.

I wouldn't even go that far. I don't think they worked their butts off in the win, but had some streaky players (Lindholm and Mangiapane) hit the score sheet often.
Since the 6-0 win against NYR, they've lost:
SJ: 4-1
MTL: 4-2
TOR: 2-1
Not enough offense. One more goal at the right time in all 3 of those games would have made a difference.

When do we give Pelletier and/or Ruzicka a shot? Not seeing too much out of guys like Pitlick/Richardson etc.

Would be nice if Hanifin would step up one game.

He’s overrated, and his stupidity and poor play showed his true ability tonight. That shot he made in OT was idiotic. Zero IQ. Is it laziness or fatigue? I dunno.

Edmonton lost to an Eichel-less Sabres team. I hear they plan on sending McDavid to the minors and buying out Draisaitl.

Flames once again don’t give the opposing goalie much work. Offensive system is not working.
Flames went into prevent defense and got burned (LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO).
Pretty frustrating but at least it was better than the absolute dog#### that was the Montreal and San Jose efforts.

They need to just not be a liability when they aren't producing.
Instead, with a 1-0 lead they continue to try to force plays that end up going the other way.

Leafs played a dominating game in the neutral zone tonight, and the flames had zero energy. Happy to come out of that with a point at least, thanks Vladar.

As mediocre as the Flames have been of late, at least they've found a way to pick up points in some of these games despite not playing their best.
Also, the Oilers have lost 2 of 3 and we're still only 3 points back of the division lead. If the team can get back to doing the things that made them successful at the start of the year, they'll be just fine. Get back in the win column on Sunday and we're still in good shape.

I always say wait 20 games to see the real marker of your team. Unfortunately I got caught up in the hype. This team is starting to look a lot like last year. Definitely concerning to see what’s going on. Some nice individual effort from guys like Vladar and kylington (minus the turnover) but the team game is on a sharp decline.
